There’s a lot that went on that is probably never going to be put out there. In the simplest terms, all parties involved wanted very different things, there’s no hard feelings, and this is what’s best for everyone.

It sucks SO bad that Steve and Aric left the band, I saw them live three times and their combined stage presence was uncomparable.

However I always assumed that - even though they're credited on the record - they sadly were never part of the recording process. The drums on all three records were recorded by Travis Barker, and it's highly probable that John Feldmann and other people played guitar instead of Steve. He doesn't have any writing credit on any song, but Feldmann etc. have.

I never understood why Jason wouldn't just let them record their parts. Even if they didn't write the parts, just let them record them! I mean he must have known just what killer musicians Aric and Steve are. Should've thrown them a bone. I just don't get it.

I hope Jason gets worthy replacements for them since Fever is still one of my favorite bands and I'm sure their future records will be amazing as well. The new members have HUGE shoes to fill.

This is why people in bands should just split everything equally when it comes to writing and recording duties. It's so much healthier for any band to just do that. I think it was Fall Out Boy who mentioned that all four members share equal writing credits on all songs, even though their input varies greatly. That's one reason why they never change their lineup.

This makes a BIG assumption that they wanted to be part of the recording, and that they were available to record. Two things that we have no insight on. There's SO many bands that have a live lineup versus a recording lineup and most often it's not about throwing someone a bone, but rather just how their band works.

The concept of permanent band members that don't actually write or record their parts for that band is so weird to me.

It seems pretty clear that regardless of written and recorded parts the ship has always been steered by Jason, Feldman, and Travis. I bet when Jason got scooped up by them he invited his close buds from a previous era and it has gotten to the point where they want different things. It is a bummer because those dudes added a lot to the live show that will be hard to replicate or replace. Jason will still keep doing his thing and the FEVER music will still continue to be awesome. I am most excited to hear if Aric and Stevis do a project together.

Stevis commented there are no hard feelings with Jason and everyone is trying to figure it out.

I get it, he's Travis Barker, but having Aric in your band and him not playing on your studio albums is... a choice.

Goldfinger, Panic at the disco, there's plenty. Yeah it's weird but it's also somewhat normal

Did not realize this is a Feldy/Travis project. Definitely doesn't sound much like one from what I remember

There’s things being assumed here that are correct and things that are way off. None of it is my place to say. Just remember that sometimes the way bands are structured internally are a lot more complicated than they may seem.

Did he not play at all on the albums? I know Travis did a bunch but is Aric not on the recordings at all?

My bad, just going based off what others in the thread were saying. Love Aric in Night Verses but Fever 333 never stuck with me.

You weren’t entirely wrong. Travis drummed on plenty of the material, but Aric is on some of the tracks.

Night Verses has always been his passion project.

Beartooth are like that as well. Caleb writes, records, and produces everything but I do think the other members will have some input on the material beyond just touring/performing live.

Watched the Lowlands festival performance yesterday and damn those dudes will be missed. Aric is an absolute monster. He essentially has a DJ set and drum solo performance. I saw them a while back at a festival but it was pretty early on. Jason has always been a top-tier frontman and showman, but it will be very hard to replicate that feeling with other band members.

They are also supporting Enter Shikari in Feb 2024 on their UK tour.

Has there been news on the new members? As a drummer, Aric was always a selling point!
