So glad This Is Why is the opener for the album. I hope they release the closer as the next single.

 

I remember them doing a HalfNoise cover during the After Laughter run too, but I think it was a different track. Wasn’t really a fan tbh. But they did cover Fleetwood Mac Everywhere so that was a plus

 

As a matter of principle I do not like people who film entire concerts but they sound pretty fucking good so i'll let it slide.

 

Just catching up.

This Is Why is everything I hoped a Paramore single would sound like following up After Laughter. A catchy and natural evolution - I love it, it’s stuck in my head and I only listened to it twice. Can’t wait for the full album.

After Laughter is one of my favourite albums of all time now. I wonder if they can top it…?

 

Who's the rhythm guitarist with the massive afro and doing back up vocals? He looks like a vibe.

Brian Robert Jones. He toured with Vampire Weekend a few years ago and stole the show. He’s awesome

 

I can attest to that. Saw Vampire Weekend in 2019 and his presence made the show so much better. Paramore was already one of the best and most fun live bands, he just made them even more epic.

 

Someone said Paramore and Turnstile tour and now I can’t stop thinking about it. They could play some pretty massive venues I’d say.

 

oh shit I didn’t realize that was him, I didn’t see him with vampire weekend, just some clips online, but he kicked ass.

 

So what’s the live lineup besides Hayley singing and Brian on guitar? The wiki band member section is pretty confusing.

I'm seeing them tonight. I'm betting they'll change up the setlist a little bit since this is only the second show. Really hoping for at least one song from the first album, but not holding my breath...

I like the song! I could listen to Hayley Williams sing anything I think. Bass part is seamless and insane and after watching that live clip, the drum arrangement goes hard as hell as well. Lyrically, I don't feel like the whole thing quite coheres but that's always been my relative nit about them, and the lines that do work have a great bite.

 

It’s Joey Howard.

The other two are Logan MacKenzie and Joey Mullen. Logan played with them for the After Laughter tours, I’m not sure if the other guy did as well but he does HalfNoise with Zac.
