i mean if you read transcripts Putin’s speech from Friday, it sounds like a QAnon idiot psycho when he talks about how the “west” wants everyone to be trans and change their genders and etc. Fuckin weirdos man I swear

 

I watched clips of it, but for parts of it he was talking fairly fast and the subtitles translation on the clips I tried watching did not seem like it was keeping up. It felt like maybe catching ⅔ - ¾ of what he was saying, maybe. Reading the English transcript was much better.

 

I think the Hitler comparisons are pretty appropriate right now, the Holocaust and genocide in general completely aside.

I've read about this story several times, and I just don't understand what type of actionable intelligence or information they were giving away. Medical information about the spouse of someone from The Office of Naval Intelligence that they could exploit...? Without knowing more specifics, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I suppose info on a current Dept of Defense employee is at least relevant, but it just seems like a stretch.

I suppose if you just wanted to help Russia any way you could and that stuff was what you happened to have access to because of what you do.

No, not that the charges are trumped up, just that I don't understand what they could have possibly given away that was very helpful to Russia. What sort of medical information about the spouse of someone in Naval Intelligence really helps Russia?

I feel like they'll get in trouble either way, because you just can't give away medical information like that no matter what your reasons are.

 

The chance that Putin goes nuclear seems to be going up very quickly every day. I personally think we are at a very high likelihood right now, but US officials are still downplaying the threat because the US public doesn't want to hear that or have to grapple with what that means.

 

Yeah, I don’t know that these two were super spies or anything. They may be nut jobs for all we know.
