Who are the real true Philly bands? Frankie Stallone, The Bloodhound Gang (some) … I don’t know any more

"goofy" is a good quality imo. more bands should try it on once in a while

My OCD doesn’t allow me to skip songs when I listen to an album but Madelyn makes me come very close every time I hear it lol

    Assume It's A Bit

    My top 5 is probably

    Cardinals II
    Doors I Painted Shut
    Songs About Death
    You're The Reason
    Old Friends

Also the dishes line in Cardinals II and the growing out my hair line in Low Tide both rule

  8. I've listened to this twice front to back. It's pretty good, maybe a top 3 album from them – but I don't love the band enough to have a firm ranking.

My main issue that a lot of the verses feel pretty forgettable melody-wise (Cardinals II, Low Tide, LITL come to mind). There's some big choruses, but overall not a lot of earworms. This is the best Dan's voice has sounded since TGG, though, so that's cool.

Lyrics are on point. Production is fine overall and great by TWY standards. Feels like a return to form.

After some time with this, I think it's landing at #3 for me. Just about tied with TGG and still below Sister Cities. Sister Cities is still my favorite by a fair amount.

If TGG is 1A for me, then Hum is my 1B. I can't get this record out of my head.

Probably #3 for me behind Suburbia and Sister Cities which I’m aware isn’t a very popular ranking haha.

Currently 3 or 4 for me; I can’t decide if I like this or TGG more. The top 2 for me are SC and NCTH

Need more time with it. I know its higher than sister cities and upsides. Probably higher than NCTH.

No chance its higher than Suburbia. So probably third after Suburbia and TGG as of today.

Just revisited The Greatest Generation this morning for the first time in years. I like it more than Suburbia. We Could Die Like This, A Raindance in Traffic, and Culdesac are some of the best pop punk songs this band has ever done. I mean, those songs are fucking massive to me.

With that said, I think this album suffers from fluff the same way Suburbia does. These are gonna be some hot takes, but I don’t care much for The Devil in My Bloodstream and I think the callbacks on I Just Want to Sell Out My Funeral bog down what is otherwise an incredible song.

No Closer to Heaven is up next and I’m looking forward to revisiting that one for the first time in a long long time.

i just revisited TGG for the first time in a while too! i think the album has one of the strongest front sides of the scene. those first 6 songs are incredible. i can go without a lot on the second though. nothing else grabs me except Cul-de-sac and the beginning/end of Funeral

I was born in a swamp, born with no clothes on

So, been listening to the new album, and as a new father (1yr old), I gotta say I burst into tears listening to "Wyatt's Song (Your Name)." Also, "Songs About Death" gives me Manchester Orchestra (Cope, METN) & Brand New (Science Fiction) vibes.

Not sure why, but this album did something that finally made sister cities click with me. Fuck it’s so good

Having now listened to this an embarrassing amount in just a little over a week, I feel pretty confident in saying this is undoubtedly their best record, though I'm not sure it'll wrestle the "favorite" title away from TGG for me. At worst, it's #2 with the ability to overtake #1.
