I would disagree about ADTR, their last album flopped and they have fallen down hard since then. I don't believe they will sell out venues they headlined 5 years ago.

The Forge denied my refund according to Ticketweb so I guess I know never to go to that venue ever again.

Dang it. I guess it really depends on what the fine print says. My friend is going to the show and I wanted to go with him but it sold out too quick. If he still goes I would be happy to buy the ticket off of you.

That would be rad, I was flying up from FL for EC for a few dates and now it's not worth the trip so let me know.

Just asked 3 of my coworkers about what they think of Brand New, 1 is a casual and 2 of them love them and listen to Deja a lot, had no clue about Jesse. I feel like only 5% of the current fanbase knows about it and 1% are on this site.

I will see if he still wants to go and what the situation is. If I do buy it it will probably be 3-4 days before the show. If you plan on selling it then try anyway, don't wait up.

Probably had this conversation a bunch here before, but 3 bands on a bill is perfect. I went to a 4 band show last night (Miss May I), doors opened at 7 and they didn't start till like 1040 and ended around 1145. I know this just makes me sound like an old fart, but that's way too late for a Tuesday show. I got there at 8 expecting the 2nd set to start and that was the start of the first set. I know that typically a show starts 1hr after doors, but I thought with 4 bands it'd get going quicker. Then after starting late, I thought shorter sets, but nope. It actually thinned out a good bit by the time Miss May I came on. Currents ended at 1015 (after a killer set) and a lot of people left.

When I saw Pavement in LA earlier this month, doors opened at 7:30, the opener didn’t go on until 9:00, Pavement didn’t go on until 10:15, and the show was over at midnight. If we want 2-band bills, I hope we also work on making more convenient times as well lol

    idk man

That Joyce Manor/Turnover show in Central Park (which was almost exactly a year ago, jeez) was one of my favorite shows of last year because of the lineup and location but most importantly because it ended at 9:30.

On a weekday show, the headliner should start between 9 and 930 and be done around 1030. Weekends, the headliner should start between 930 and 10 and be over around 11-11:30. I feel like that's what it normally is anyway. I've never been to a weekday show before with a post 1030 headliner start (and I've been to about a dozen weekday shows this year).

Having said all that though, I did stay to the end and saw 4 great sets that I enjoyed, but I'm paying for it today and definitely forced myself to stay for the last couple of songs when I was ready to tap out.

As some one that has to travel 1-2hrs to nearly any show I go to, the worst offense is starting super late. Headliners starting at 9 on the dot is perfect. If the headliner doesnt go on until like 10:30 then its gonna be a long fucking night for me. Nbd on a friday or saturday but weeknights can be rough when I have to be in the office at 8am the next day.

I feel this. When I was living in my hometown I’d have to drive anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours for shows. Most of the time I’d never get home until after midnight. I think the earliest I ever got home was like 10:30. That was a dream

Idk if it’s because I live in southern california but 99% of shows I’ve been to ended right at 11. Having a headliner start then sounds terrible haha

The foo fighters show last night at the forum was 6 hours. Didn’t get over with till 1 am local time there. I know it was a special show but that’s still hella late

    Things have changed.

    Optimal run-time for shows:

    7-7:30
    7:50-8:30
    9-10:30

I'm seeing Meshuggah/Converge tonight and Meshuggah doesn't start until 10:20 and have a 90 minute set, so I will absolutely not be staying the whole time lol
