Collective Soul is a vastly better band than Puddle Of Mudd, and I actually like Puddle Of Mudd, but they do write some really stupid songs. Collective Soul is in a different league though.

 

I’m not a big believer in compilations generally, but I feel like they’re a good candidate, as is Pink.

I also went comp for Three Dog Night and the 5th Dimension, too.

No one will believe me, but Dosage and Blender are incredibly solid albums that no one has ever heard from Collective Soul

 

Hmmm. Maybe I need to try one. Their s/t was a big miss for me, with the hits being the only worthwhile songs, hence me really leaning toward compilation

 

I feel like these two albums are companions to each other too, they were released very close to each other. I dunno, I feel like there's unexpected stuff on both albums. If you don't like Dosage after the first 3ish songs, you can quit

 

my mom LOVED the song Blurry when it came out so she went to Target to buy a Puddle of Mud CD and it ended up being a string quartet tribute to Puddle of Mud

 

Probably for the best. You didn’t need her hearing the bridge of “Control”

 

How did nobody bring up the part of Hey Soul Sister where he says "I'm so gangsta, I'm so thug"

 

i missed that so i went back and i wanna say Same Mistake by James Blunt is great.

 

I absolutely love Vitamin String Quartet and that they've done tributes to practically every major hard rock and nu-metal band from the 00s. It's awesome stuff.

 

She Hates Me is dope. Was in the Rules of Attraction radio ad

 

She Hates Me is one of those songs I like to queue up into my girlfriend's Spotify when she doesn't know I can reach her session at a given moment, always so much fun

 

The DJ at our middle school dance thought it would be a good idea to play She Hates Me (censored of course). So naturally it was just a room full of children screaming "SHE FUCKING HATES ME" as loudly as possible. They made the DJ stop the song and tell us to stop cursing and then they proceeded to start the song again. Of course no one stopped. So then they played really boring music the rest of the night. That same DJ would also play Enter Sandman every single dance and have everyone line up in front on the floor and headbang. We had weird dances lol

 

Puddle of Mudd was technically my first concert. Local radio fest with SoCo and Sugarcult.

 

This is the greatest thing. Drive-by playlist sabotage. I love it.

 

bush is a genuinely good band with several albums better than most of the more widely accepted 90s rock bands
