    Things have changed.

I'm not sure anyone on that tour expected to make money.

Considering a lot of the venues are in the 800-1000 cap range, I think Alesana set the bar a little too high

I'm not really sure where else to post this on this site, but Kyle Maite, one of the guitarists from Hit The Lights, died in a car wreck on Tuesday & is leaving behind a wife & 2 young kids. 2 GoFundMe's below

So that club pass for Chicago is excluding all 3 nights of twisted Xmas

  9. That was the rumor but John and Bobby both vehemently denied it

Looks like the rumor was just a year early

So jealous for anyone going to the Pavement shows. I was going to snag a ticket before I realized I had other shows planned on both days they are here. Hopefully they tour again next year!

Electric Callboy had to cancel their entire almost sold out USA tour cuz nico is sick and have to reschedule all the other dates over seas. I guess they plan on coming back to the USA next year but it will be a different tour

This shit is absolutely fucking ridiculous. (Prices are with fee estimates)

There has to be a breaking point coming soon, right?

  14. Or go see Bartees Strange or Future Teens. Bought tickets to both this week and paid under $20 for each including fees.

For real though, I have no idea what can actually done about prices like that short of real antitrust legislation targeted at LiveNation. Will call only with a strict no resale/transfer/name change policy might work but has a bunch of complications and no one, probably including bands, wants to implement that. At least those Paramore and Muse shows are at smaller places than they normally play, right?

When a band plays a smaller venue they should implement a will call only the way Metallica, Green Day or Smashing Pumpkins did at Metro. As for bigger venues implement this is harder, but there must be a solution.

  16. Metro is pretty good about that sort of thing, and it helps that they're not affiliated with LiveNation at all.

Nah live entertainment is one of the few things we have left that can't be experienced digitally and in the comfort of your own home. Streaming has allowed for more music to be exposed to more people so bands doing these underplays are going to be HEAVILY in demand.

Man Jim must REALLY be feeling sick because that band is like one of the most professional bands out there. I saw them on Long Island this week and they blasted through 20 songs in 80 minutes..

This is the way. There are lots of bands out there playing for the $20-$30 range (or less) and while that still may be seen as expensive to some, it’s way better than paying hundreds of dollars for a big band in a small venue. I like Paramore and (some) Muse too but if I had the chance to pay a couple hundred bucks to see them (even in a smaller venue) or spend the money on a bunch of smaller shoes (more bang for your buck) I would choose the latter. Although I will say going to a bunch of $20-$30 shows can definitely add up, it’s better than $400 for Paramore or Muse.

I’ll never understand paying that much for a single show when you could go to any festival and see them + dozens others for that price. They’ll both be running the circuit next year.

I hope Jim is okay and if he has to postpone ct today I’m okay with that. I can wait for my first jew show as long as he is better

Any guesses on a timeframe of if/when ABR will do a 10 year tour for Rescue & Restore? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Jan-Feb with support from MIW, TDWP, and If I Were You
