Just looked up Ken Burns' Wiki and it's insane that he already has every doc he's going to make for the next 10 years already planned and lined up.

 

Watching the new Bling Ring docuseries. There are a lot choices in terms of formatting that I’m not a fan of but I’m pretty amazed at how detailed of an account they were able to get from the one kid

 

Speaking of docuseries, I’m halfway through Sins of Our Mother. This story is so fucked up. I remember the missing kids being in the news right before the pandemic but it didn’t realize how twisted the backstory was

 

My wife has a wicked crush on JAW so him being everywhere is great for me lol

 

Started Reboot on Hulu. Ep 1 is promising.

Just realized Los Espookys is finally back. Definitely will need to rewatch season 1 but excited for more.

 

Is that CCR Netflix doc narrated by Jeff Bridges any good?

 

From the writers of 500 Days of Summer too. I'm definitely interested.

 

I love GBBO and I know the technical challenges are done blind. But I very much have a problem with them laughing at the two bakes where it was obvious the bakers misunderstood “feathering”, and there are multiple non-native (and non-European) English speakers on this season, and both ended up at the bottom of the rankings.

 

Also since they're doing a Rosaline movie, now they definitely need to do a Mercutio spinoff movie too.

 

I was a bit reluctant to check out Mystery of the Batwoman because I read Kate Kane wasn't in it. I ended up enjoying it anyway, though. Not a top tier Bats film, but it's always fun to return to the BTAS universe. And there's a neat Catwoman short after the credits!

 

Watching the Netflix CCR doc now.

Yep I can already tell this is going to reaffirm my belief that CCR are without a doubt one of the two greatest (along with The Beach Boys) pre-punk American Rock bands.

 

Like why both Brian Wilson and John Fogerty are not universally accepted as American cultural heroes that have statues and middle schools named after them and shit like that yet i have no clue. I think they're both that important.

 

i mean, i feel like they both kind of are haha?

 

Ask the average person who John Fogerty and Brian Wilson are vs asking the average person who Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, ect are.

Even Jim Morrison I feel is still held a much higher regard more people's minds as an American cultural figure, and The Doors were overrated as hell.

I just learned from this doc that John Fogerty had never stepped foot in the south in his life when he wrote Proud Mary and Born on the Bayou. Insane.

 

I'm putting the doc on my list, listened to all their albums pretty recently and was very into it

 

idk. i’m not even a huge beach boys fan and i feel like for my non-obsessive music fan friends, he’s still kind of the stereotype for “tortured genius” musicians/one of our great songwriters

fogerty is a bit more niche for sure but idk if i’d go so far as to say underrated. also a bit of a geographic thing
