I worked deliveries at Home Depot and if someone ordered a mower for delivery we were supposed to push it to the back to get it ready. One of my genius coworkers decided to start throwing some gas in them and riding them through the store. I think he did it twice before getting chewed out by an assistant manager in front of everyone lol.

PUSH?? I assume it has a neutral setting much like park or drive, but then are you supposed to navigate the aisles while pushing it too? Seems like a hell of a lot of work. If they still do that someone should give them a good million dollar idea to put dummies out front and keep the real ones in the back so that unnecessary physical labor isn’t needed good gravy

(but this is retail management we’re talking about and no one gives a shit lol)

 

Years ago I found out there is a city called Chevy Chase in Maryland and I will forever simply believe it is named after him and will refuse to learn otherwise.

 

yeah you’d kick off the parking break and put it in neutral and it actually was pretty easy. Usually 2 of us would push, 1 of which would steer with one hand. sometimes ones would be out back and still in the crate which was nice because we didn’t have to get it ready for delivery! but yeah that job was super labor intense, most of the managers had no idea what we did and we brought in more money with those deliveries than any of the stupid people working on the floor.

 

Yeah man delivery kept the lights on at the Lowe’s I was at. Those dudes pulled like 70 hour weeks.

 

yeah the main delivery dude that works there works 60+ hours a week from like March-Sept. He’s in his 60s and barely breaks a sweat. I was 30 and would be dying and I was part time and only worked 1 or 2 days a week.

I grew up like 20 minutes from there and I was confused when I first heard of Chevy Chase the comedian as a kid
