I was very confused by the family’s motivations for lying about the daughters drug use. Did they just want the attention of the podcast? And was the whole town in on it, because they all lied about it. overall I enjoyed the movie though. I went in blind and was pleasantly surprised.

I think it all echoed back to Ben's comments earlier in the film about the type of people who get sucked into conspiracy theories, and how they let themselves to believe wild fantasies because it's easier to accept than reality. Deep down the family knew she had a drug problem but refused to acknowledge it because they wanted to keep her memory on a pedestal as that golden child who did no wrong.

Just finished Abott Elementary. It's in the same vein as Ted Lasso - just a feel good comedy that always tries to end up with the characters doing the right thing and always tries to have a good overall message. It of course has a lot of similarities to the office, and so I'm nervous about its 22 episode season coming up but I definitely think it deserves all of the praise it's getting at the moment. I'm only nervous because that's a lot of content to produce at once (quality over quantity always), and I really hope they don't go and Flanderize a bunch of the characters like a lot of sitcoms. I still like the office, but it definitely suffers from taking quirky characters and then going overboard. Andy/Kevin/Dwight/Michael all had moments that were just so unreasonable and far fetched. Jacob/Ava/Melissa all have quirks that they definitely could go too far with (at least for me).

I'm also confused on how it ended up on hbomax and if new episodes will be there? It doesn't seem like it. ABC and hulu is what I'm seeing online... maybe hbomax will get the full season again when done?

Finally started Better Call Saul recently and have just been blowing through it. Starting season 4 today, so I really hope season 6 gets added to Netflix in the next month.

It’s Willy Wonka’s everyday life trying to run the Chocolate Factory, but in the style of The Bear. Oompla Loompas ripping into each other because one of them fucked up the Gobstoppers.
