it took a bit to be honest - I think we started at 12 months (my wife nursed in some capacity for a whole year while working in some actual foods too). I think a problem too was when we moved to it, she had had purees some prior to us starting it so she was real resistant to bringing things to her mouth on her own. its been a bit so I cant recall the things she was good with to start now, but now she's almost two and an absolute pig eating with a spoon and fork.

My older son has been telling his teacher/nurse his stomach, head, throat hurt (yes, all three at same time) and gets sent home. He's done it now like 3-4 times in only the first 3 weeks of class. He's been tested so many times, it's not Covid. The symptoms strangely disappear the moment he is picked up and he comes home and wants snacks/food.

I'm kind of lost as to how to handle it haha.

Take him out for ice cream. He learned how to game the system and he should be rewarded for figuring it out so early.

jk, I wish I had some real advice for you.

Took my 3 year old to his first high school football game last night, we left at halftime, but then heard there was a fight later that night and mass panic because someone yelled gun or threw one of those poppers or whatever and it made my mind go to a dark place and I got really sad thinking about him being scared or something happening to me/his mom and not being there for him and etc. Being a parent and having these thoughts is really hard haha

I’m dying at the toddler who figured out how to game Covid. If mine pulls that crap I’m gonna have a real hard time keeping a straight face.

So no one warned us about Prodromal labor lol. Had a GREAT day of my wife in huge pain, and us genuinely believing the little dude was coming six weeks early. Today has been wild.

    Little rant:
It's kind of frustrating to me how so few bands release "amended" versions of their albums these days. So many of my favorite artists lately curse (Hot Mulligan, Gang of Youths, Wonder Years etc etc) and I can't listen with my kids. We don't swear around or in front of children at all, so it's frustrating they miss on certain music because I can't manually censor. Wish bands or labels would have this in mind.

When I was a kid, my dad tried to censor music, but my mom didn’t. I very specifically remember being 6 years old and listening to Use Your Illusion II and other music that was definitely parental advisory. I was full into rap by the age of 9 or 10. I always had to hide it from my dad. Even into my teens, I would sneak-buy CDs with parental advisory stickers just praying my dad wouldn’t find out. I think I turned out OK

I have never gone out of my way to turn off anything with my kids in the car. My son is 8 and my daughter is 5. They both know what bad words are and they know they aren’t supposed to say them. They’ll call out from the back seat when they hear a bad word and they know it’s not something to be repeated. Kids will find a way to find explicit music, movies, material. Especially this generation.

My issue is just my son repeats words that I don’t want him too occasionally lol

I don't listen to most rap in front of him, must rap I listen too swear way to much and use words I'd rather he not know. But we do listen to all the pop punk, etc. He(7 y/o) knows there's bad words, but he also knows not to repeat them. Haven't had any issues so far, once we do, I'll be sure to address it some way.
