No Sleep Records Launches Kickstarter

    No Sleep Records has launched a Kickstarter to try and save the label:

    On September 10th, as I was making preparations to receive inventory, I learned that Awesome Merch had been locked out of their commercial space, and that the landlord has taken possession of everything inside.

    Every piece of inventory No Sleep has is in that warehouse. From apparel, records, CD’s, even test presses. My heart sank. I’m in shock. I’m devastated.

    I immediately got in touch with my lawyer, and am in the process of seeing what we can do to rectify this nightmare situation and to see if we can recover from these damages. As of now I have no real answer on if we will get our inventory back, what will have to be done to try and rectify the situation or what the outcome will be.

    This is a big loss for No Sleep. After an already tough couple of years due to COVID-19.

    Reads like the Coles Notes version of the Topshelf Kickstarter. Which I don't mean as a compliment or criticism, only that I couldn't believe the detail and transparency of the Topshelf post to explain their situation and what they're planning to do to overcome it.

    Glad to see the topshelf kickstarter has gone way beyond their goal. No Sleep is definitely a complicated case due to the lack of payouts to artists, but I wouldn't want to see all this inventory lost to time as well.

    I have little sympathy for them, these guys have screwed over so many artist. No wonder it’s failing miserably. This kickstarter will go nowhere and rightfully so.
    I know I a lot of people that were screwed over by this company

    If the Kickstarter is to be believed, it was in an attempt to change things that lead to bands getting screwed/orders going unfulfilled that this happened to them.

    Homie used that excuse for literally LITERALLY three - four years when people got shit delayed or never received orders.

    hope he’s still got his Range Rover though.

    I feel no sympathy for Chris. But it seems like they're getting all of their inventory back anyway.

    He owes so much money to so many bands. Many of which are no longer even active as musicians.
    Their customer service has been as bad as it can be over the last 4 years or so.

    Wish I could honestly get a hold of someone there and cancel the records I've been waiting for for one and a half years, but no one ever returns my emails. Sounds like I'll be waiting even longer. Hard to want to help somebody who apparently does this to tons of people and artists.

    They posted on IG that they’re getting their stuff back. Will be interesting to see if I ever get my order from last April.
