I honestly really love American Slang as an opener. Let that song build with those drums and get people hyped up

ive seen them open with so many different options, High Lonesome was a good one, no bullshit just kick right into the rock n' roll

Didn't look at Portland's setlist prior to last night but now I'm even more baffled at why they played so few 59 songs. I just figured they are sick of playing them or something. Set started off slow and never really got going until the last few songs lol. Also Brian can joke and talk shit all he wants about how he's free to talk as much as he wants in between songs but it undoubtedly killed any semblance of momentum several times last night.

Brian's stage banter is always so so so uncomfortably drawn out lol

    Diamond Church
    Old Haunts
    Blue Jeans

Nothing from that album is opener worthy, imo.

I know it’s a thing that they do covers, but if they just swapped those for a couple of songs I would be fine with that setlist.

Love the song but its a horrible opener to a concert.

Man I feel lucky with what Portland got. I almost teared up when they played 1930 as I lost my Grandma this year and one of my favorite Gaslight songs. I did not expect them to pull that out towards the end of the set. This was my first concert in 4 years and I was floored by the bands performance. Brian’s banter can be a bit much for people, but the dude looked so happy and when you’re playing for nearly two hours at their age you need some breaks. I find him genuinely funny/charming most of the time.

I feel bad for you Seattle people. That set is definitely not the best, but still we just have to be glad we get anything from the band and that they are touring again.

Last thing I’ll add is Tigers Jaw was a perfect opener. Really happy Gaslight brought them out and the crowd seemed to really enjoy them.

As someone who has never seen TGA in my lifetime, nor are they coming anywhere near me on this tour, I'd be cool with anything they played.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I’m good with whatever they play, and I enjoy his banter lol it’s wild they’re back and it’s immediate complaining from everyone. Not just on here but like all social media is just complaining about everything

you could tell he was annoyed at Seattle show about the banter thing. Definitely felt like times he was taking a piss and intentionally rambling on just to prove a point :crylaugh:

this is probably the written setlist in reality

They added She Loves You I somewhere in the middle... I think maybe after Diamond or Old Haunts. And then They also did Blue Dhalia I'm fairly sure it was in place of Morphine but it may have been in addition.

Nobody moving to 1930 feels like it should be a crime. At least it wasn't Divorce :crylaugh:
Did anyone bring any signs to the Portland show? In addition to the She Loves You sign which Brian was like "Uhhh we can try but if we fuck it up its your fault" someone also had a really good sign for Angry Johnny but Brian was like "I love that sign but none of us know how to play it anymore" :crylaugh:
