Leverkusen had a bad start but on paper they have a good team.

Very true. The results don’t match the roster

    How I spent my evening.
2-0 win, still top of league, and the team managed by Barton had 2 players sent off.

Marseille fans shot fireworks into the away section at the end of the match between OM and Frankfurt. One Frankfurt fan apparently is in critical condition after she got struck by a rocket.
I know some Frankfurt fans are no saints themselves but this is just another incident of French authorities failing to provide a save environment for a football match. CL final, Nice - Köln last week, now OM - Frankfurt. What has to happen til they get their shit together or get sanctioned by UEFA?

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Haven't domestic games in France been getting pretty messy in the last 12-18 months too? I seem to remember OM and Nice being involved and I think one of them had games behind closed doors because of it happening repeatedly. There was also that pitch invasion at St Etienne.

Probably not the most fair stat since it seems to include the games before he joined but he's still not contributing to the team like most expected. Whether he starts in the playoff matches turning out to be a tough decision.

  10. I usually stay away from the overreaction to a former Spurs players having a good game against us, but if the reports about the release clause / sell-on fee regarding Edwards are true.....we could essentially sign him for 26m. He doesn't really fit the mold of a typical Conte player, but he does fit the type of player we were trying to sign at the end of the window. He seems to have developed very well since leaving (something that likely wouldn't have happened as quickly if he stayed). I know there were some concerns regarding his attitude when he left the club, but from what I've read this morning, it seems like he's improved in that aspect as well.

I don't understand the inclusion of Pepi. Guy has not scored in 11 months and is still struggling for playing time even after being loaned out. Pefok should be getting called up here in my opinion.

Pefok and Sands should've been called in. Just name 28 and see everyone but the injured three in the pool.

To me its pretty clear that Berhalter is showing first preference to strikers who he thinks best fits the system, disregarding form as the number one priority. I would love to see Pefok, but I dont think poor performances from Pepi over just 2 matches will be enough to dissuade Berhalter from including him.
The quotes from Berhalter about the selections/exclusions are telling.

Feel like Celtic should be ahead in this.

Yeah Celtic is going to be disappointed if they don't win this. So many quality chances this second half.

At least two. Hopefully no more. I really don't see our defense handling this too well. Hopefully the midfield trio disrupts the flow of City's attack to keep those chances down, but surely there will be some goals.

PSG losing to Maccabi Haifa! That can't stay the same, surely?

I miss Haller and he hasn't even played a minute for us. Modeste just isn't linking up well :(

What a boring half in this City/Dortmund match.

Psshhhh. It's actually riveting how compact, structured, and composed our defense has looked so far. I am thrilled.

Yeah Borussia’s defense has been stifling towards City; wonder if we’ll see any changes after the half

I would have to assume so (goes without saying). Unfortunately, I think City will have a better chance against our fullbacks should they sub on Foden and/or Silva. It would be fun to see a Silva - Guerreiro matchup, though.

I think our best chance at a goal will come if we sub on Adeyemi/Moukoko for Modeste.
