    Finally got evidence of it - my brothers and I got this signed 155m artillery shell for my Dad’s birthday recently - glad we could contribute to the war effort against genocidal imperialism

    I spend between $200 and $250 every week and honestly don’t even feel like we buy that much. We also buy whatever we cook for dinner the day of. So we’re really spending easily over $300 every week.

    Very late to the party on this one, but when I was a kid I had a guinea pig for a period of time. She was an albino and she was precious, so this story really hits me. Someone please, help these adorable creatures.

    Honestly switching to hello fresh has saved us money in the long run. We don’t buy stuff that we end up throwing out. We only buy stuff for breakfast and lunches and cook hello fresh for dinner.

    I'd say I usually spend about $90-100 per week on groceries for two people. Though we occasionally do vegetarian weeks and the bill has been as low as $60 recently, which has me going for that option more often.

    Yeah, $350 just does not go that far for groceries for a whole family these days. We are super careful about what we buy, my wife and I only buy meat that is on-sale and then meal plan around what we were able to get for the week. Nevermind lobster, I bought steak to cook on the grill exactly one (1) time this summer.

    We did Hello Fresh for a long time and it was a good way to save money, the food is really good, and we learned a handful of new recipes.

    We tend to get take out at least 2 times a week so hard to gauge grocery bills. I’d guess about $200 on average not counting take out. My mom works at a grocery store so she also tends to buy us some stuff

    I definitely stole some recipes from Hello Fresh that I still employ in my repertoire.

    Didn’t Hello Fresh just have a major recall for product with E. Coli?

    We typically eat (or order) out 2-3 times a week. The other 4-5 nights we either grill chicken or bake salmon. I’ll eat scallops a few nights a week too.

    My weekly buys at the grocery store are really just:
    * a loaf of bread
    * milk
    * grapes
    * strawberries
    * blackberries
    * bananas
    * peaches
    * apple sauce
    * pretzels
    * a bag of Doritos or other type of chips
    * cheese sticks
    * peanuts
    * goldfish
    * cereal
    * eggs

    That’s not much (like, 4 bags of groceries) and is already at $75+ easily and it’s not even counting anything we buy for the kids (frozen chicken nuggets, corn dogs, tater tots, hot dogs, mac n cheese, lunch meat, yogurt, pancakes, waffles,general snacks, etc) which adds anywhere from another $50-$75

    And then you add in things you buy 2-3 times per month (laundry detergent, soap, toothpaste, TP, paper towels, Kleenex, paper plates, condiments, etc) and that *really* drives the price up.
