    Sending my love

Had a great weekend in Brooklyn! I love how excited everyone was for night 2! As a Danger Days stan, I am personally appalled at only 1 song but that’s the beauty of this tour. It was actually really awesome getting a ton of Bullets & Revenge, took me back to the early days of being a fan of this band. Still waiting for my stroke of good luck on one particular song I’ve been waiting for.

Just a couple of notes from last week's second Boston show. I ended up scoring front row Loge right next to the stage. It was fantastic. I was on stage left, and got to see (I presume) Ray's family hang out side-stage and lose their minds all night. It was so neat. At one point during "Na Na Na", he went over and knelt down on one of the big cabs and played to his kids. They were jumping up and down, playing air guitar, and just going crazy. It was so fun.

Also, there was a girl with a broken leg in the pit who braved it in a wheelchair. Her friend brought her all the way to the very edge of the guardrail and she propped herself up to see the set. An older woman, who I believe was the band's manager/lawyer who Gerard mentioned a couple times, saw her. When the band left before the encore, she ran back toward the stairs where they were exiting. She returned to side stage when the band came back for the encore and gave the girl in the wheelchair a shirt signed by the whole band.

I enjoyed night two waaaaay more than night one, both because of my seats, and the set, but also because the crowd felt way more engaged. I was really surprised at the number of people who really only knew the major hits on night one. I certainly wasn't surprised that people didn't know, say, Conventional Weapons stuff, but there were so many people around me who knew nothing but big singles. Crazy given the prices of the tickets.

Ultimately, I can't stress enough how fun/meaningful these shows were. Worth the near three year wait, especially given I'd never thought I'd see them again. If this band meant or means anything to you, I promise it's worth every penny to go out of your way and get to a date.

  3. This is how I felt about the mewithoutYou farewell tour after seeing the first night of the tour and watching the setlist get better and better at every show after mine.

I'm interested to see if MCR plays a more "hits" set at Riot Fest or if it's pretty much in line with what they've been doing.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

At 33-years-old I thought I was done losing my voice at shows but I guess not.

There was a lot of crying where I stood last night, myself and my neighbors. She was seeing MCR for the first time, and I thought about how wonderful it must have felt for all of these people who thought they'd never get the chance to see the band. The energy they screamed, danced, and cried back at that stage was reciprocated tenfold. There was gratitude in the faces of everyone everywhere you looked.

There was a buzz and a spiritual element in that room last night, and the catharsis and release of that setlist—just heater song after heater song, no real breather—kept the place building towards a dizzying sort of euphoria and frenzy. The playing was flawless and Gerard was nailing everything with such an effortless swagger. Seeing this band go from playing for 15 people in 2003 to controlling an arena crowd in the palm of their hand. I can only consider what they did last night as surgical, but surgical with an overwhelming amount of soul.

    Long live MCR.

I don’t want openers I want Gerard to do a noise set on his little electronics set up

  10. blink is my favorite band and I would kill for them to mix up their setlists as much as MCR is doing on this tour

going back and reading the early posts in this thread is fun. so many of us were sure they'd never reunite, never release new music, and/or never tour again

GREEN DUDES BEST GREEN DAY PODCAST Prestigious

Honestly I'm so happy I went to both NYC shows. Danger Days, most days, is my favorite MCR album. So hearing S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W and Only Hope on Friday was fucking amazing. Revenge, on some days, is my favorite MCR album. So hearing so much of it (and fucking DESERT SONG) was mindblowing. My best friend and I were just talking about how back in the day we'd fall asleep during many sleepovers to the sound of that song looping over and over again on the DVD menu screen after watching Life on the Murder Scene.

    Birds and Guitar

Has anyone brought a point-and-shoot camera into Prudential Center before? I had no issues getting it into Barclays but I’m borrowing it from my friend for their shows and would hate to have any issues next week in Newark.

Only 3 songs from revenge is a slight bummer but god damn what a show. Love them so much.

How's Gerard's voice doing at this point? Saw some clips and it sounded good but obv doesn't hold a candle to in person

Today I'm gonna see P!ATD the day before MCR play the same venue, and I'm so tempted to just skip going home and hop right back in line as soon as the show is over. Sleep is for the weak.
