Anybody have experience with cool bars nearby after the show? I’m completely unfamiliar with the area so hoping to explore a little bit and let the crowds die down.

 

Any recommendations of Kedzie vs. California? Kedzie's a closer walk from the festival entrance, but it leads into California.

 

I always did Kedzie for the shorter walk, even before I was coming from the west end of the pink line.

 

Is Lagunitas a decent spot to grab an Uber? Hearing all this talk of it is making me think it might be nice to grab a beer there for 45 minutes or so as the crowds die down...

 

lagunitas still has not re-opened since covid. :(
though still may work well as an uber pick up location, not sure.

 

Yeah, I juuuuust saw that on their site. Bummer. But still. May consider trying it as a spot to get picked up. It's a few blocks from the festival grounds and a little over a half-mile away. It could work.

And arguably, it may work better given that it's closed.

 

I always do California going into the festival and Kedzie for leaving.

I’m so disappointed that they moved the stages back.

 

They put the 2 main stages next to each other. Nice!

 

This. After going every year since 2015, I've tried it all but for locals or folks that don't mind a cramped bus ride for 20 minutes, this is the best way north.

 

Absolutely enjoyed the main stages better how they were last year. Bummed they're back next to each other.

 

Just noticed that Riot stage is now the one on the left

 

So happy they put the Roots stage back next to the Riot stage. I can now watch the whole Alk3 set and not miss a minute from MCR!

 

I'm with you on "Mama." Just a real drag on the whole set for me. My biggest "get" for an MCR setlist is "Honey, this mirror isn't big enough for the two of us." They haven't played it since they came back but they've been playing a lot from Bullets.

 

Same. I will grab a spot in tbe middle rail and see Sparta-Descendents-TBS-AK3-MCR without losing my spot

 

Just out of curiosity, what's the drawback from them being close to each other?

 

Looking forward to that app update too.

 

Not sure what's more disappointing for me: the main stages being side by side again, or not seeing Dumpling House on the food vendors

 

now that i know they are next to each other again, looks like my only hunkering down in one spot will probably be on the roots side for jimmy->sleater->YYY->NIN

 

Bonus is yeah I get to watch Trio while waiting for MCR, but I did definitely enjoy the setup last year although....I don't remember why I did?

 

Damn, I was looking forward to last year's layout, but the normal one isn't the worst. It just gets a little chaotic going back and forth and around the center barrier as opposed to just walking in a straight line.

 

I would guess having more people over there? When they were split apart last year there was less congestion over the main stage since there were all apart from each other. I like it better when they are together, also since it's less walking (thank god!)

 

Ah, the barrier is something I didn't know about.

Makes sense to me. I'm a RF noob so I appreciate the help. Trying to plan out each day is a little chaotic, except for Saturday for which I plan on spending my entire day at the Rise stage.

 

It gets super congested and leads to more stage camping.

last year I walked straight up into the pit on right side of the main stage 30 minutes before Slipknot and 5 minutes before Run The Jewels.

in previous years (2016, 2019, 2019) I had never gotten past the sound booth for a headliner unless I got there 2+ sets early
