I kinda love knowing the set lists ahead of time. Not always, but for something like Riot Fest with overlapping sets... It helps my FOMO to get a sense of what I might miss (or not miss, as it were) by popping over to certain sets at a certain point.

Like, with Jimmy Eat World, knowing that they'll be ending their set with "Sweetness" and "The Middle" makes me feel better about leaving early to be sure I'm on time for Midtown.

I like knowing the setlists beforehand but I love when bands change their setlist every show, so Im really excited for what MCR will play at Riot. Hoping for Cemetery Drive or Headfirst for Halos

its gonna be a gamble with MCR for sure, some of the set lists are weak AF in my opinion. like the Barclays one from the 10th is bogus, in no way should there only be 3 tracks from 3 cheers while also doing 3 from conventional weapons. while the very next night at barclays for night 2 is a banger of a set. i give them props for changing it up A LOT each night, but im hoping for lots of 3 cheers, lots of black parade, and sprinklings of brought you my bullets and danger days.

That Barclays night 2 setlist is insane! 4 songs from Bullets would be amazing

Is this MCR's first festival slot since they've been back? I'm curious if that will impact the setlist, like if it will be a little more hits focused

Knowing the setlists beforehand helps me with deciding with conflicts. I want to see Alk3 but I am afraid that by the time they are done MCR will be too packed to even be around but Alk3's setlist from their latest tour has barely anything I want to see so it will be easier knowing that I won't miss much if I leave halfway through their set.

I believe it is their first festival back. Everything else has been headlines.

I used to like not knowing set lists before the show, and then I left the City and Colour show before he covered Rain When I Die by Alice In Chains, and that changed things.

Alkaline and MCR are playing across from each other so you should be able to turn your back to Roots to watch Alkaline in order to camp for MCR!

The "wild swing" set lists are mostly in spots where the band is playing two nights. I kind of expect that, given Riot is their only Chicago date, it'll look a lot more like the "fan favorite" set lists.

I just kinda hope they don't bother with "Mama." I know I'm probably in the minority on that one, but man have I never liked that song.

    my favorite MI Don't Love
I may do a shot if they are handling out samples, I want to see if it's as bad as they say.. because I live in the South, and I've tasted some fucking terrible liquors (some not legal)

I'm not paying $10 for a shot though

Poster's been updated. Interesting to see Gogol Bordello positioned below quite a few acts playing before them. Was probably just the easiest/quickest approach from a graphic design perspective. But still.

That one's cheesy... But it's fun and quick at 2:41. "Mama" feels like a slog at 4+ minutes. I feel like a whole lot of their bands probably love it but... Yeah. Not for me. Haha.

not a huge MCR fan, I mean my favorite song is "I Don't Love You" which they haven't even played on their current tour lol

this was the only other time I saw them.. it was REALLY cold for October in Louisiana and they were definitely just going through the motions.. so I'm really expecting a better show Friday My Chemical Romance Setlist at Voodoo Music Experience 2011

im excited for MCR as they are the band i feel like i got to watch grow in real time. from seeing them as the opening band in a tiny club in 02 to headlining my favorite festival with 6 other shows inbetween, each time climbing the ladder upward

I'm leaving about halfway through My Chem on Friday to get to The Maine aftershow before the pink line gets flooded. I'm also seeing MCR on Tuesday though.

The pink line shouldn't be chaotic if you leave at that time..

the 52 bus stops at Kedzie on the green/pink line and will get you to Bottom Lounge pretty easily from what I remember

    locals would know better

Weird question but does anyone have a good idea for a pick up spot for after the fest? My wife is dropping me off and picking me up on Friday after MCR (like a 10 yr old child lol) and last year a large area was blocked by the police so I had to meet her pretty far away. Anyone knows where would be a good spot to go and meet her?

Maybe near or around Lagunitas sounds safe & easy.. it's not a terrible walk

Again, I'm sure locals would have better advice

that walk is even easier if they continue to do like the last few years and open a 2nd exit location to the right of the long food vendor line, dumps you out right near lagunitas.
