Steve himself posted in length about how he needed to step away from the band and was going to rehab for addiction he’d been battling for many years, I think right after the last tour cancellation. I even think he might’ve slightly alluded to this detail never being public or known because of the hyper focus on Anthony.

It’s definitely clear that the band is not on the same page entirely at the moment, but I don’t think laying it all on Anthony is accurate.

People on one hand are pissed that the band isnt being "more clear." But I feel like they dont even know...I also feel the sting of the cancelled and re-cancelled BSN tour.. I had tickets to the original date and by the time the rescheduled tour came about.. my venue wasnt even there anymore..I got full refund without asking for one. On the other hand, let giants sleep... This band has been at it forever... I feel content with everything they put out and could not ask for more. Theyve been together since 2004 and had no member changes at all. Thats rare.

i thought the statement was pretty “we’re done” sounding until the point about stability outside of the band. That gave me more “the band isn’t going to be our main focus financially” vibes, suggesting it may be more hiatus or part time than breakup. Which seems to be corroborated by what others are saying.

I'm all for reserving judgment until we know something concrete, but at the same time, c'mon. "We're having trouble with communication as a group" and "it's been hard to transition out of 18 years of relying on the band financially with ZERO notice." That certainly sounds worse than another yearlong hiatus between record cycles.

Who cares about the details, honestly doesn't matter and we're not entitled to shit. Maybe they'll make more music, maybe they won't, so what. This isn't real housewives, we don't need to get a detailed rundown of what their personal relationships are

y'all are so wild. i simply wouldn't be posting any of that mess.

i'd imagine LS Dunes is going to be keeping AG busy for most of the rest of the year and a good chunk of next year. they sold out of their non-traditional black vinyl pretty quickly and, for a band with one song to their name, their spotify numbers are already pretty huge. it's definitely a legitimate band in its own right and not a side project. it makes sense that he would be busy and not able to commit to CS and, on the other end, it makes sense for the other guys to probably be a little peeved about it considering, as said in the patreon post, it makes up most of their income. AG being busy isn't worthy of "blame" lol that's fucking absurd.

If we don’t get anything again…I’ll be happy they went out on a high note. Amulet and Dream EPs are my favorite shit they’ve done since 2007.

Hope they are well. They have made more hours of my life enjoyable than anything else outside my wife.

Circa are my favourite band, and I'm not particularly bummed, because its a rarity to get this many releases from a band, and without any line-up changes too. I love seeing them live, but its not like I was going to get to see them here in the UK anyway. Last time I saw them I was in the US.

Yeah not seeing them live is the biggest bummer. Saw a half hour set from them in 2008 which was incredible, but haven't caught them since and I don't think they've been over to the UK since like 2015

First time I ever saw Circa live was for free in a mall parking lot on the zumiez couch tour. It was hot af too, but still free. I remember being blown away.

I saw them at warped tour not long after Juturna came out and was BLOWN away!

The Amulet is their best album. Especially if you include the b sides. Rhythm section is perfect.

This opinion will change when I listen to Any of their other albums this week

The Amulet rules. I agree about the rhythm section. Steve and Nick were absolutely locked in on that album. I think they were a lot on Descensus too.

Probably my least favorite album from them, hate the production and don't really remember any of the songs ever

The production is indeed not good, though I seem to remember getting blasted here for saying that when it came out

My only amulet complaint is guitars are a little low. Vocals sound great.

BSN is so thin / tinny.
VW needed a producer to layer things properly.
Descensus is not right. Unsure why but it’s muddled in the wrong way

amulet to me is their best sounding. Juturna and OLG are not far behind but sound worse at louder volumes than they should be.

the amulet has immaculate production. violent waves is super thin, BSN is crushed to all hell with digital distortion everywhere and sound ridiculously bad, and descensus straight up doesnt sound finished.

i dont mind the amulets production. its not as good as juturna. but it has a competent sense of space, etherealness, and good guitar tones again. what should it have sounded like INSTEAD?
