Not even thinking about a title challenge right now. We're way off it. Individual moments in attack but little flow. And that means we're not in control when we lose the ball.

We might have hit the woodwork three times but they were isolated moments and we didn't really create any great chances, despite all our shots. Pickford was great but it was, mostly, solid goalkeeping rather than spectacular saves.

There are bigger problems but Mane was so good in all phases that obviously he's a miss. But midfield's a problem with Thiago being injured, Keita/Oxlade Chamberlain often not available and Milner/Henderson's performances dropping off because of age. And down both sides, the interplay, which has been key for us in the last four and a half years, is nowhere near as good for a couple of reasons (mainly due to us isolating Salah and making it much easier for opponents to mark him out of the game).

Guardiola has that thing about needing fifteen good passes to ensure a good defensive transition. Our flow has gone which means we're losing the ball playing bad, rushed passes and then we're more exposed on the counter. Van Dijk's now 31 and having to cover a lot more space in front of him than he has had to previously. There's just a lot of breakdowns in various aspects at the moment and so we look a bit of a mess when games start to go away from us.
