I think they know no one is going to say anything. I was actually about to go over 6hrs which def is unlawful, so I said something to give them a heads up. Then I researched it and was like nope. It says I get premium pay. Let’s say for example start of the days is 9am but they want us there 15min before and clocked in. Lunch starts at 2. Now that is ok only if you clock in at the 9am. According to online, if were on the clock at 8:45, we should clock out just before 1:45, otherwise it’s a late lunch violation because we’re working more then 6 hours a day. But we don’t, we clock out at 2, sometimes later. Manager said that’s legal because “healthcare”, but as long as you don’t run over the 6. And you continue your 8 our day. It’s like this 2x a week. I’m having trouble finding something that says it’s legal. And I didn’t even know about the 5 hour thing until I somewhat recently saw it on tiktok from an employment lawyer within the past few months

 

yeah that’s 100% illegal in California, and they definitely know that and just don’t seem to care.

 

People who don’t use headphones and just watch videos in public - like literally sitting at a table watching YouTube with the sound at full blast - deserve to be jailed

 

Getting stuck behind a school bus

 

My drive to work has me getting stuck behind school busses frequently and no way around them. And there's a stop every two blocks. Back in MY day I had to walk fairly far to my bus stop and now these kids get a stop every few yards smh!

I mentioned it to them. Said it’s ok to go over the 5, but you can’t be on the clock over 6. Which I thought until I saw something different. That’s why I said something. The first part is true as long as you don’t work over 6 hrs in a day from my understanding.

 

Months ago my dad was in the hospital because they told him to go there and then he was there for days before they were gonna do anything. Then they took him to another hospital - but refused to let him drive himself there or have my mom drive him, they “HAD” to take him by ambulance.

he got the bill today and the “best” part is the ridiculous $60 per mile for 63 miles he got charged. Over $3,500 just for the “mileage” of a non-emergency ambulance ride they forced him to take.

I can relate. I almost had to change my number. I did have to change my email that I had for over 10 years and transfer so many accounts. I also I had conceal my social media and put a fake name along with untagging myself in everything I was tagged in. Of course the police didn’t do shit since there was no “immediate threat of violence or harm”. (:

 

The other day posted about almost being denied my premium pay because “healthcare” and my manager saying as a hc worker you automatically consent to waiving it, etc however it was phrased and that if I don’t consent I need to say so (so I did. I said I don’t consent). Well... I searched labor laws for hc and my industry specifically. Found a website and I’m right and my manager is lying (or not informed properly of the laws). It said it didn’t matter how busy it is, if you work over the end of the 5th hr you get premium pay. Which is what happened to me. Manager also said we’ve gone over many times (like that makes it ok and I shouldn’t make a deal of it) Then upon further research and calculated my break times, they’re in violation of it a few times a week.

Podcasts with unnecessarily long intros; I remember the few times I listened to Joe Rogan it’d be an average of 20 minutes before he got to his guest. Or on my favorite metal interview podcast, the dude takes a good 7-8 minutes before getting to the guest, usually always having a “Intro before the intro”. Like, fuuucckkk, just get to the reason why I’m listening to this podcast. There’s too many podcasts out there to have to sit through jibber jabber before getting to the meat of the thing

 

Seems like the bigger the podcast gets the more they ramble about nothing in the beginning and the run time is longer and longer but like not with any more content lol

The upcharge on any beverage in restaurants. Like stop I can get an entire box of tea for the price you're charging for one bag. I just want something besides water sometimes and it's always so much!

 

Oh and 3 day weekend holidays like this where it's not a major holiday so idk what's open or not. I appreciate places with good social media presences just because they often post updates on if they're open

 

this but with beer at concerts/sporting events. they charge $14.50 for a 24 oz IC Light at the Pittsburgh penguins games here and a case of ic light is like $22. I know it’s nothing new but it’s still infuriating.

 

Lol yeah its outrageous. I took my lil sister to a concert shortly after she turned 21 and she was all excited to drink at the show and then almost had a heart attack at the cost. Absolutely not worth it to me.
