Feel all of this. Like most of the characters and would love to see them again, just feel like it needs to be reigned in and pinned down a little more consistently

  2. Alright just watched the finale - I dug it mostly. Sorry for the rant but there is no thread for the show. I liked the hints toward a season two, I think next season we’ll see Baltasar become more infatuated with Pasaje, knowing now that the memory leakage phenomenon that took his best friend from him may have been a direct cause of time spent within it. I can maybe see him trying to help Sam from it eventually driving him mad like it did Alex.

My only complaint is that Emma’s arc felt a little... mishandled? The very human elements of loss and coping involved with her story are great and they should examine that more in the future. I didn’t find whole emotional climax where she’s stuck in the cave to be all that earned or moving. It would be interesting if they built off of the conversation she had with Offerman’s character about whether or not we really are any more than the tragedies we experience.

Also wtf happened to the couple that went with them into the forest lol did they just leave them there??

this is apropos of absolutely nothing, but I just finished The Owl House on D+ and was really shocked how much I enjoyed it. trying to unlearn my biases about kids show = lame to watch as an adult, great writing, casting and animation like TOH has definitely helps. gets into some pretty weighty stuff too without beating you over the head with it, and the s2 finale genuinely gets pretty intense. really filled the Gravity Falls shaped hole in my heart for a couple weeks lol

That’s quite a rec! I loved watching Gravity Falls with my daughter when the pandemic first started. I’ll have to convince her to watch it with me lol

if it helps, it's made by Gravity Falls alum and kinda-sorta in the same universe. should be an easy sell!

and yeah, Gravity Falls is still honestly one of my all-time favourites. watching that episode by episode when it first aired was one of the dopest experiences

Yeah I’d say you’ve really got to give it to the end of season one when it takes a pretty dark turn. Seasons two and three absolutely take off from there.

We watched some episodes of Craig Of The Creek last summer while on vacation and that was a great show

  14. Amphibia and Owl House have a lot of parallels, if you like one you'll most likely like the other. I highly recommend both. Basically this generation's Adventure Time and Steven Universe imo

yeah I just realised Amphibia was made by a Gravity Falls alum same as The Owl House, the fact that all 3 shows share so much DNA makes a lot of sense now lol

I’m not caught up on The Owl House but it’s one of the more charming shows I’ve seen from the last couple of years. So much heart and a great cast. Anytime Mae Whitman is in the credits you know you’re in for at least one great performance

oh no doubt, but I mean no weak links in that cast. Wendie Malick as Eda is absolutely inspired casting, it's so hard for me to reconcile her with the character she played on Bojack

I forgot it even existed. I’m still surprised it was just dumped on Peacock and given next to no promotion

I don't think I've ever even seen or heard of that show before. The amount of things that come and go without me even knowing they exist is kinda crazy.
