I always thought the fnl town was rural but not small. It's big enough to have an Applebee's!

The original FNL was based on a high school in Odessa, TX which has like 100k people. So not small but still pretty far from other cities in Texas I guess

  5. If I'm getting Showtime just for Yellowjackets I can do that one month free trial they have. but idk, bundled with Paramount+ it might be worth it. I've never actually seen The L Word, feel like that's a lesbian rite of passage

You can pause it and it will show how much is left in the episode.

EDIT - I see this was already covered, disregard.

    yeah good okay Prestigious

having driven through Odessa countless times to and from college, I can say that it is truly in the middle of nowhere which is basically all of west Texas

I don’t have experience growing up in a small town (though that “bubble effect” was still real on Long Island) but pre-COVID I took many business trips to a small town in Arkansas. Literally nothing there. Had to drive 30+ minutes for any sort of restaurant that wasn’t catfish, Mexican, or bbq.

Yellowjackets is the only real thing worth watching tbh. Billions is still going on, Lena Waithe's show The Chi is on season 3, L Word revival season 3 is coming in November, their tech biz anthology Super Pumped is pretty meh but got renewed for a 2nd season which will be about facebook, couldn't get into Man Who Fell To Earth, Flatbush Misdemeanors season 2 recently ended, and Vanessa Bayer's I Love That for You is pending renewal.

American Gigalo and an adaptation Let the Right One In are coming by the end of 2022.

Wish Twin Peaks and TP: The Return would get the love it so deserves whenever Showtime is mentioned in here. I mean I get it--it's weird and not everyone's thing. But truth is, I literally haven't seen anything that even remotely approaches the quality of The Return since it came out. One of the all-time best seasons of television I've ever seen, and probably reason enough to get Showtime.

  12. Yeah doesn't sound like there's enough to justify adding it to all my other streaming subscriptions, I've only just started going through Peacock. Paramount+ originals doesn't seem to have much I'm interested in, either.

Paramount+ is essential for me, but as a Trekkie I am biased.

People don't know what they're missing out with on Strange New Worlds though, truly a special show, and probably one of the best "tentpole shared universe franchise" shows of the last few years. Certainly better than anything Marvel or Star Wars is doing on Disney+.

Lower Decks is also fantastic, but probably too much Trek fan service jokes for non-fans.

We finished 4 last night and I like but don’t love it. Honestly the flash backs are the best part and kinda wish it was just that story.

Holy shit. I am not old enough to remember anything about Woodstock ‘99 and that whole doc blew my mind. My favorite part was when the promoters were trying to get RHCP to calm down the crowd and Anthony just said “there’s nothing I can do to fix this”

I got AMC+ through Amazon to watch BCS season 6 just to found out only the last two episodes are available with a sub, episodes 1-10 you'd still have to buy. WTF kind of shit is this?
