started The Patient not knowing each episode is only 22 minutes and when the first episode ended i was VERY confused. Really weird to make a psychological crime drama this short...

eh i appreciated it, most shows are way too long these days

  4. There are a select few shows that I think are worthy of going past the standard 42-45 minute mark. Succession is one, Euphoria is not. Just examples

it's so annoying because I like to know how long an episode is before watching to know how much time I have and for say League of Their Own sometimes it's 40 sometimes it's 50 minutes

yeah there’s no consistency anymore. the one benefit of network television is their always timed to the minute for ad breaks

a lot of times if an episode finishes it’ll auto play the next and there’s no way to tell

I dunno I personally just assume all dramas are 45 to 60 minutes and all comedies are 25 to 30 minutes, and i don't even check the time while i'm watching most of the time lol

  12. If every show was 22-30 minutes per episode, and every movie was a max of 90 minutes, I probably wouldn’t need to go to therapy anymore.

  13. The bear is great because it gets in and out with 30ish minute episodes. There's a time a few years ago where someone would have tried to make them 45-60 minutes long.

  14. It's only annoying when you have to leave in 45 minutes so you start a 45 minute episode but it's actually 54 minutes

If an episode auto plays I just press pause for a sec and look at the runtime

I hate when I fall asleep watching season 1 of 30 minute show and then i wake up it's halfway through season 2.

I appreciate shows like servant and the bear doing 30ish minute drama. It works perfect for both shows. Neither needs to be 45-60 minutes.

Just imaging 45-minute episodes of the bear gives me chest pain. The short length works for the chaos

  20. Arcane is the only 40min ep animated show I can think of, and, subsequently, the only one I can bear the thought of being 40min. It's incredible what shows like Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, and Infinity Train can pack into ten minutes, though.

I’m thinking of doing an Over the Garden Wall rewatch. I watched it for the first time about a year ago on HBO Max. Masterpiece.
