I've seen a lot of fans being so dramatic on tiktok and like gasping and laughing at how clever she is for releasing this on Kim Kardashians birthday like ???? I doubt that was intentional. What would even be the point? To stop people from going to Kim's birthday party because they're too busy listening to Taylor's album? Swifties can be so extra

And if it was intentional (which I dont think it is) that seems obsessive and not a positive personality trait so idk why ppl would be celebrating like she'd be getting the last laugh when that would be ridiculous.

So much of online “stan culture” is just immature pettiness I feel like. I wish it was more about celebrating what you love, but so much of it is tearing down people who stans view as “competition” to their faves.

Altho I've also seen lots of stans excited that she danced and hung out with Nicki Minaj at the vmas and is so supportive of her and I'm not saying I expect taylor to disown or not dance for minaj, but supporting someone like Minaj does not give me positive women supporting women vibes lol but I know stans gotta beef with whoever they think taylor beefs with and love who she's friends with so whatever fits the narrative

 

I prob would've beefed with whoever Pete Wentz and Gerard way beefed with when I was a youthful Stan so like I get it lol
