La Liga always has to do things in dumbest possible way sometimes. Though I am not sure if they are the only league that puts the VAR screen there though.

There is no way that should be a straight red. This ref is fucking trash.

Two times already he has made mistakes and needed VAR to fix them.

Edit: VAR fixed his dumb red card.

It's borderline cruel that you can have a goal like that taken away. But yeah, there was a clear foul in the build up.

I'm delighted Valencia didn't go down to 10 men because this game has been quite interesting for a 0-0 so far.

Atleti players drop like a sack of potatoes at a light breeze once they’re in the lead.

  9. Adama rumors are back too. Don’t know if it’s lazy rumors or legit. Would be fine either way lol

Rumor is Barca want 25m for Auba and it seems the Chelsea fanbase feels like this is nuts?
Legit question as an American sports fan where salary caps are a thing, why do fans care so much about transfer fees when the owners are bottomless billionaire money pits? We need a striker bad throw them the 25 Ms who cares haha

Spending in football as opposed to the closed leagues in North America is very different. Just because an owner is rich and is putting money into the club now, doesn't mean that owner will always be willing to put money in. If Boehly gets bored and next year stops investing, big money signings from this year can be an albatross around the club's neck.

Additionally there's things like Financial Fair Play meaning you can't just rely on the billions from an owner. It's all related to club turnover and revenue. Granted, Chelsea are probably unlikely to be restricted that way, but clubs still need to be wary of what they spend and how they spend it.

Whichever way it's framed, spending £25m on a player that was literally paid to fuck off from a different PL club 8 months ago is terrible business.

I wonder more if its his wages rather than his transfer value that is the fanbases problem?

It’ll be interesting to see if they keep subbing him on 60’ in after the transfer window closes. He only has to play 45’ in 14 games for the clause to be activated, so at some point if they keep not playing him until after certain points, it’ll be obvious… which could lead to some fun fireworks.

At the end of the day, don’t get rid of your only two strikers and then got shocked other clubs are taking advantage of you for cost for it. I’ve seen it happen to Barcelona and many others.

Genuinely think the funniest thing would be if the only two games of the season he starts are against Barcelona.

    100%

I wouldn’t be surprised if Barcelona terminated the loan in the winter window and sold him if it keeps up like this.

Would anyone take him though? I know he has a couple of goals this season but he’s been pretty terrible all year

I figure he’ll do that thing where he goes off with France and is the best attacking midfielder on the planet until they lose in the quarters and he’ll have admirers

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I think that may be Newcastle. I might be muddling players, but I think he's big mates with Guimaraes and it was being rumoured that Bruno was trying to get him to come to Newcastle earlier in the summer.

    That is a ridiculous kneejerk?

I thought that too, Bournemouth fans seem to dislike him though. But yeah, club don’t want to spend a penny, he’s spent all summer saying they need players in and after a 9-0 says it’s going to happen more with the current squad. Think just a toxic situation all around there, which is a shame as I quite like Bournemouth.
