Also the Bourne movies aren't even the best Matt Damon spy film, that would be The Good Sheperd. The last piece of mainstream culture critical of the CIA before the liberal perception of the CIA in the culture shifted towards being more positive in the 2010's.

Also was really into Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in high school.

 

The Halo show was actually really good, but too many dorks mad about canon let it color their opinions unfairly.

If viewed just as a straight of science fiction thriller without any preconceived opinions about video game lore it's pretty fucking solid.

 

The recent trend of people calling celebrities by their first name is weird and is a sign of a parasocial relationship with famous people.

 

It's interesting the different levels of importance people put on first names. I'm not sure if it necessarily means what you say it means, but I can see how calling someone you don't know personally by their first name implies a familiarity that doesn't exist, even if the person doing it doesn't intend for it to be seen that way.

Like I'm right now trying to envision it in my mind, and I agree, it sounds weird. But I don't know if I'd consider that anything more than someone just having a disregard for how they refer to a person, not anything else.

 

The access that we have to these celebrities through Twitter or Instagram or anything else is a big part of it. It is part of that "stan" culture.

Yeah not the first name that bugs me so much as the insane idealization. Assuming that every artist you like agrees with you on every issue and is a perfect person is just so foolish and yet people keep doing it

 

People getting mad at that actress because she had photos with a relative that supported Trump was pretty eye-opening. As if almost every person on this forum couldn't point to a Trump-supporting relative, especially if they are white.

 

it's more the brazenness of openly taking a picture with someone in a blue lives matter shirt and thinking that's a normal thing to post on social media lol

 

I think the Always Sunny podcast has gotten extremely stale and Charlie comes across as egotistical

I think I listened to maybe the first... 10 episodes? Thought it was fine. I’m sure it gets better. The whole wave of actors that make podcasts to talk about the shows they’re on is kind of a big miss for me even if the Sunny one abandons the format more

 

I listen to two recap podcasts, this and the “Boy Meets World” one, which mostly sucks. “Always Sunny” feels like a group of friends hanging out and maybe getting around to the episode, where something like “Pod Meets World” or “Office Ladies” gets grating very quickly because it feels like they have to be overly enthusiastic for the listener. You can kind of feel the eps of this where they’re going through the motions, but then there are some like last week’s dance episode that I think are very solid and the video pod adds to it.

It’s also very funny that they’ll advertise for McDonald’s and then some healthy green drink or supplement.

 

Those podcasts seem really sad to me. It is just another version of signing autographs at a convention to pay the bills.

 

i’d say that’s what 90% of them are for sure. the sunny one feels a bit different. they’re barely talking about the show, it’s just the three of them ranting on random tangents for a half hour

 

I think it’s a format that can be used for good, since the decline of Blu-Rays has basically wiped the cast commentary off the face of the Earth. But when an episode has like four ad breaks, then it’s just craven.

 

I tried Braff and Faison's Scrubs recap pod and yeah I also could't make it past 5 or 6 episodes.

 

I want to listen to “XOXO Gossip Kings” because I love Carl and Lamar. But I’d need to have the time to dedicate to watching Gossip Girl.

 

I listened to a couple episode of the New Girl podcast. It was pretty good, but somehow I did not keep listening.

 

Reheated pizza is never as good as the original.

 

The only way to reheat a pizza is 10 min in the oven at 400

 

Reheat in the oven or air fryer and it's good. Anyone who microwaves pizza is a pyschopath.
