I'm saying these things not to shit on Circa/Thursday, but just to show my love for TTN. It's 5 perfect songs. Honestly I'd take them over like 99% of music out there.

the only song i think is "great" is seven years. the rest are pretty good.

Seven Years is probably third for me after 3rd Measurement and Lost Symphonies.

  5. Producers and label executives flew to meet me in my dorm room because I talked about Saosin. It’s how I met Brian Mcternan the first time in a shitty pub.

Full Collapse is still so god damn good it makes me sick. Some of the best lyrics we’ve ever seen.

yeah i mean it was a question not really an argument btw. im not sure if TTN was influential for that or not and im still not sure. im not that familiar with Atreyu today other than i really didnt like them back then. and i am very familiar with At the Gates and the death metal genres trajectory, they are mellodeath.

for a minute there a small swath of bands tried but yeah. i think anthonys early work was most influential from a vocals perspective. there are others as well, but i really think he was part of the original and most consequential “high pitched emo” singers.

Even when I was super into Anthony Green's early stuff I never got into Saosin. High and Driving though? Hell yeah

I didn't think so, I had so much fun, although they had a short set at Taste of Chaos in Europe.

I love TTN and Saosin and Circa and Thursday. I can’t speak to the reach TTN had, but I would guess that The Artist in the Ambulance and War All the Time, which were both released the same year as TTN, had a greater impact on the post hardcore scene than TTN did

  14. Anyways, this thread has convinced me to do Circa and Thursday discog runs.

I think my only hot take is that Avalon is my favorite Anthony album, period. Juturna is close behind though.

avalon is REALLY good. it somehow came out alot more mature than all his other more recent acoustic solo albums imo.

Avalon and this new one are the only solo ones I care about. I played the fuck out of Avalon when it came out. It was one of the only CDs I had in my car.

The LS Dunes song is so good. Exceeded expectations. Honestly would find it hard to find something he’s been a part of that I don’t like. His voice just sounds so fucking cool and he can do so much.

i think the song is just plain high energy fun but theres not any intrigue or innovation or newness going on

i think he had another one off band several years ago, Food I think it was called?? nearly same exact deal iirc

Yeah this track is very bland and kinda just there for me. Hopefully the rest of the LP is more melodic and/or has more going on with the leads.
