I loved 3 Cheers when it came out and still think its great. I actually had never listened to Black Parade in full until this year (I guess because I never really liked the singles), I decided to check it out. It felt kinda long and not catchy like 3 Cheers was. Im a little surprised it was received that well.

As someone who was obsessed with Three Cheers, I think I was initially disappointed in Black Parade when it came out because it had a lot more ballads than I was expecting. I don't feel that way now though

Same. Didn’t like Cancer, Sleep, or Disenchanted as a kid and now I’m old enough to recognize the last two especially rule

I can't imagine not loving Sleep upon first listen, but then again, I had almost graduated college when Black Parade came out, so...

I absolutely lost my mind when they played Sleep on Saturday. I wanted to hear it more than anything else and I had pretty much given up hope that they'd play it, but then they did

I was around 14 when Black Parade came out. Had such a fun time at their Black Parade tour in like 8th grade

I was in college when both Three Cheers and TBP were released. I still remember watching MCR perform TBP for the first time ever at the MTV Music Awards in my college apartment.

I'm curious how Gerard picks his outfits for each show. Like, some nights, jeans and a T-shirt and some clown makeup and the next night he's a cheerleader. Curious how premeditated it is or if he plans it the day of the show. I fucking love it so much.

Side note: this is also the only tour in a long ass time where I have avidly followed every tour date curious about the setlist and what Gerard wears lol they're doing this tour right.

The black parade is my favorite album of all time, and mcr isn’t even close to my favorite band overall. That tells how much i love that album.

I think they need to re-record it.
I'm loving the energy of it watching the live footage.

Someone re-recorded Bury Me in Black and added Gerard's vocals from the demo. It sounds sick.

3 Cheers and Black Parade are both so good at what it is they’re going for that it’s kind of a toss-up for me which I think is “better”. but I think I will always slightly prefer the former for the no frills, lightning in a bottle energy it contains whereas TBP feels incredibly considered and elaborate, and covers more sonic territory but also maybe feels like some edge was lost in that. I don’t get the crit above that TBP is “not catchy” personally, at all, but I do think the hooks on 3 Cheers are maybe a little more in your face.

I think Bullets has a lot of cool ideas and a few good songs but is overall pretty messy, and has easily the least coherent songwriting of the bunch. some moments get me really hyped and some moments honestly bother me very badly, like tonally speaking idk lol. and Danger Days I hated like on sight when it came out and tho I have softened up to it overall with time, I still don’t really connect with the first half much and something still keeps me at bay w/r/t just how radically different the sound and aesthetics of that era were. I respect that they were likely trying to break out of a mold they created for themselves with the aesthetics they’d cultivated on prior releases, but it just doesn’t resonate with me the same or scratch the itch I am generally trying to scratch when I reach for this band’s music. CW honestly I have only listened thru in full once but that one listen wasn’t super memorable in all honesty (always loved Boy Division tho).

all that said, Foundations of Decay has honestly become one of my favorite songs the band has ever done, and if it’s any indication of what a new MCR album might sound like it’s very possible their best work is still ahead of them. I am hopeful it wasn’t a one-off.

"Sleep" is a good song but I've never liked the way the climax sounds for some reason, just super squashed and not flattering? I'm sure it's great live.

I liked half of TBP a lot when I first heard it and didn’t really listen to half. Disenchanted, Sleep, and Disappear were always near the top. Sleep might even be my fav My Chem song (and has been since). Virtually never listened to cancer, mama, and teenagers as a lad, and still don’t like the latter at all. As an album though it now sits very high on the GOAT list.
