    Just us on 100% then?

(allow me to be smug, I know it won’t last)

He did a phenomenal job at Bournemouth, too, until he started talking about winning trophies. I know he's got a better gig for himself at Newcastle but I'd be hoping lightning doesn't strike twice if I was him.

    hmmm

Guardiola's a control freak – description, not a criticism per se – and I imagine it takes a lot for him to trust players. So if he does trust a player, he prefers to stick with them in tighter moments and make slight tweaks instead of maybe more conventional tactical changes that may or may not help. He trusts Gundogan and Rodri to do what he wants, he was never going to take off De Bruyne or Haaland, and in a game like that he's unlikely to take out Bernardo Silva.

He clearly doesn't trust Alvarez or Phillips yet. I'd imagine they're going to have to wait for when City start playing three games a week.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I'm surprised he didn't unleash Alvarez as we got more tired. He looked really good in the community shield.

Just watched the first half of PSG v Lille. Galtier has got PSG purring already. Can't be bothered watching it anymore now it's over as a contest...so here I am for Barca v Sociedad.

Really enjoying this new rule where you can come through the back of a player at all times without it being a foul.

Dembele's gait reminds me of Yaya Toure so much. So when he cuts in and scores like he does it still confuses me quite a bit.

Lewa taking to Spanish football like a duck to water.

it'd be great to live in a country where this is just the funny thing that it is, rather than being a teacher in America where my first thought is woah this is bad taste we have shootings all the time
