Joelinton was so badly deployed by Bruce. You could see he was a talented player, but not a striker. He insisted on playing him as a solo striker. It was laughable how quickly Howe spotted he could be better used elsewhere.

Pretty sure Bruce spent two years teaching our backline how not to defend. They knew how to do it before he arrived...

 

Guardiola may well end up going down as the greatest coach of all time, and not without merit.

But it really does help having the best players sometimes.

I don't think height has anything to do with it. It's whether it's dangerous or reckless/endangering. It was high, but he's tapped his knee with the top of his boot to trip him. It's not the same as sliding in, studs up into someone's knee.

 

You can feel another goal coming for City.

 

I think it was a red, honestly, but my main thought is that it was borderline and isn’t a clear and obvious error. Feels like referees and VAR officials are just making it up at this point.

Yeah I know but still. Only making one injury enforced sub is mad. He does it all the time. Surely Alvarez or Mahrez could have helped?

 

Was just thinking this. His response is basically you got us into this, you get us out of it. It's to double down on the existing plan, not change.

 

He seems to never sub whether we are up or not. It is one of the stranger things about him honestly, or when he does sub we are up a ton and I am expecting a younger player to come on to get some run and it's Grealish coming on.
