Definitely felt a little “Ape Dos Mil” in this

this song is fucking AMAZING. that piano part is so fucking sticky and reminds me of like ODB or something. and the bass line underneath it is so carefully dissonant and really doing a lot for the groove, and the drums fill up just the right amount of space to really tie it all together. and the chorus is just so damn cool, I’m gonna have to chew on it some more before I can even put words to what it’s doing for me, but the hook it’s founded on is just unbelievably catchy. I can understand why the vocal delivery might not work for some but goddamn is it just what the song called for, to my ears.

 

The opening reminds me of the Arctic Monkeys.

 

Man I’m not really feeling this for the most part, hopefully it grows on me

 

I like it but kinda preferred Basking in the Glow. Maybe it'll grow on me.
