joe's voice circa Mountains and Lenses is one of my favorite voices ever. he did vocal training between Lenses and LOSE and now he's a way better live singer and his technique is probably better but it lost what made it special imo

 

nothing wrong with his voice at all

 

This album is cool as fuck. I think this is the one that's gonna hook me on them. I really dug the middle portion, but no glaring weak points.

 

Yeah I love his vocals but I can see why some wouldn't

 

I didn't dig the vox right away. that's definitely the instrument that, when unconventional or more unique/original, takes me the longest to come around to.

 

to me, his voice is absolutely one of the high points of the band

 

I've grown to enjoy his vocals but they are definitely unconventional at times and can be quite jarring and abrasive. I played Have A Heart for my girlfriend yesterday and she said the vocals were too much for her. So I get it, even though I don't take issue with them.

 

This is my first exposure to the band, and I haven't listened to this nearly as much as I've liked but I love the vocals (and the record in general)

 

I love his vocals. It is hard to understand what he's saying without research, but the aesthetic of his enunciation is a paramount feature of the band. It puts the words to life once you find out what they are.

 

When he hits the high notes (especially in Dancing Days) I get goosebumps

that whole section gives me chills every time. my favorite moment on the record without a doubt

I actually agree with you to some extent even tho LOSE is my favorite album and I still love his voice. Every time I listen to WTAM I am so drawn in by his vocal performance.

 

finally received my deluxe of this. pretty disappointed that they gave me the smoke variant even though I ordered it long before there was any mention of the smoke. Other then that it looks great.

seeing them in a few hours

 

I missed them here Tuesday because I can't drive at night and it's like a 12 hour walk to Atlanta so anyway THAT sucks since I really wanted to buy the album at the show

 

any one thats seen them on this tour - did they have some new shirts? i feel like giving these guys money for being awesome and i already own their albums on vinyl.

 

Yeah I saw them in Providence and they had 2 different shirt designs. I picked up what i liked more of the two. Also got a hard copy of their album as well. I posted a short clip of their concert on Youtube. Amazing show

I imagine this is a good album to go biking to. Maybe I'll test that out today

 

Was hoping my review would be posted by now but it was submitted earlier this past week so hopefully Monday or so

 

"Well" is a top tier song to me.
