Didn’t realize California deluxe was hated as much as it seems. I really enjoyed it overall.

Bottom of the Ocean is top tier.

And I like Cali Deluxe just fine.

I love Neighborhoods. Better than Dude Ranch.

I've always just been a bigger fan of more matured songwriting - there's not a bad song on Neighborhoods to me, but there are multiple songs that could be thrown off DR today. They perfected that sound on EOTS - which is far and away better than DR. Same reason I don't like I Am the Movie - it's just not as good. It's more of a novelty to me to see bands in their 'starting to bloom, but not quite there' stage, rather than something I actively enjoy listening to.

After replacing founding member DeLonge with Alkaline Trio singer-guitarist Matt Skiba, Hoppus said that his rekindled friendship with DeLonge was a “panacea” during his treatments. “Everybody’s in a really great place now,” he said of their current relationship, which has led to whispers of a possible reunion of the band’s most successful, longest lived lineup.
“I keep writing music, and I’m open to whatever the next phase of Blink is,” Hoppus said without directly addressing any potential announcement. “I’m hopeful for the future. I’m just d–n glad to be here.”

    Things have changed.

We could just truly do most atomic takes and it'd be fun.

  16. "Sober" should have been a country song the same way that "Wake Me Up" by Simple Plan should have been. I'm kinda shocked the same people didn't co-write both songs.

I’ve had bigtime clickage with Neighborhoods in the past few weeks.

Things that bothered me like the unproduced sound and weird mixes turned charming. Weird comeback record, but half the songs are great, especially some of Tom’s. Ghost On The Dance Floor is probably a top 10 fer me at this point

I love the trip Tom’s on with Wishing Well and Even If She Falls. Sorta poppy Cure, sorta pop punk.

And Snake Charmer kinda has Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me via Quicksand vibes. Bad lyrics but it’s a cool song.

I put the album cover in photoshop and colored it with the red from the Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me cover. Looking at a gooey romantic red while you listen makes the record sound way less gray. Like a visual McGurk Effect

also i dropped Kaleidoscope, MH.404whatever, Love Is Dangerous and Fighting Gravity. Those songs suck

Snake Charmer being better than Kaleidoscope is certainly an arrangement of words

Chorus is the best thing Tom did on there

  21. The “Snake Charmer” bridge is my favorite part of the whole album. The chord changes hit me in all the right ways.

If I had to rank all the albums I own Neighborhoods would probably be 938th

Cut the HAG Interlude, This is Home and MH and you’ve got yourself a great album.

I even go to bat for Fighting the Gravity. A really cool change of pace for them. Well, for Mark…..I’m still convinced that Tom has never even heard the song let alone record it haha
