It took me YEARS to get into Radiohead. I find Kid A to be slightly overrated and TKOL to be underrated.

In Rainbows recently just clicked with me hard and I've been listening to it nonstop over the past 3 months or so

 

I should give mwY another shot. I enjoy the genre and definitely think Weiss brilliant but nothing has really ever clicked.

I can however find hours of enjoyment reading through their genius page just reading lyrics

 

I cannot get into Radiohead.

 

I think American Football is just okay. Definitely enjoy the album but man does it get fucking boring. Prefer Owen.

I only really get down with the Kinsellas if I'm going to be laying under thick plush blankets for hours at a time.

I tried with The Mountain Goats.

 

I had been a casual TMG fan for a long time up until last year.

Last year I went through an incredibly gnarly breakup and I can't really say an album WRECKED me the way "Get Lonely" did. What a sad, miserable, beautiful record. I almost hate him for writing it. I can't listen to it anymore.

 

Get Lonely is my fail safe record. i don't know anything so heartbreaking.

Yeah, and usually I'd say don't trivialize suicide that way, but I think it's very apt given the subject matter in these albums -- esp. Get Lonely.

Coke Machine Glow was a treasure.

If I have to explain what's weird about calling a highly respected female artist's voice "obnoxious," then you're a part of the problem

 

Disliking her voice is one thing but calling it and by extension her obnoxious is really over the line imo

 

yes. there are ways to make that point without being entirely degrading
