if he and his party were politically savvy enough with communication they’d use the IRA passing as an excuse to say hey inflation is getting under control and in the meantime we can continue to extend this help to people that need it to afford their bills etcetc

 

Something I’ve noticed is it seems like many of the “big names” from that admin are never-Trumpers, or at least rhetorically so, but a bunch of staffers in that admin rose to be semi-prominent members of the Trump admin and/or his cable news enforcers. Another example of the “polite society” Republican Party having no idea what forces they’ve unleashed over the last 40 years

 

I think a lot of the ones that fit this description were/are just rubes, but I do think there are a few like Bolton, who imo absolutely recognized what Trump was from the start in every sense...including as an easily manipulatable moron. He just thought he could get something he wanted by working there, and was mostly right. He only really left due to falling out of favor lol, losing some kind of palace intrigue to fucking Jared or whatever lol. Bolton essentially acting like a liberal aristocrat who tricked the king into appointing him to a ministry
