I laughed when they took it to the extreme and gave the Fiji water its own full story.

Yea that part was excellent. One of the best gags in the movie. That's not quite what I was talking about though as it gives us mainly new scenes or shows us stuff we've already seen from a new perspective.

My gripe was the literal reshowing of footage we had already seen. Again, looking at the Ladybug throwing the knife at the end. We don't need to see a clip of the scene where he fought the Wolf again. Just trust the audience to know where he got the knife from.

Yeah, I get it and can see how that would be annoying. But I also understand why they used so many flashbacks and repetition of things like the Bolivia job. The biggest theme of the movie was luck and fate. The water bottle sequence to me was the biggest example of that. Showing him take the knife again is just another moment of that luck/fate, not necessarily with the intention of explaining to the audience. It was just over the top, very on the nose. Also in contrast to the knife, they didn't interrupt the moment Michael Shannon prepares to fire the rigged gun at the end with a flashback. That would've lessened the impact of the explosion. I just don't think the knife was all that important anyways. Not like the gun. I agree, it's exhausting. But again, within the context of the story, I get why.

I had a great time with this, but oh boy am I glad that on a day where I decided to do a double feature (thanks, AMC A-List!) that I saw this before I saw Nope, which I'm going to be chewing on quite a while.

If anyone hasn't seen this yet who was a reader of the book, know that they nailed a lot of the book, though the ending is more bombastic in the movie.

The 10-15 minutes of BTH in Beale Street is one of the best performances in anything I've seen in the last few years.

This fucking ruled. Exactly what I wanted.

also it was pretty obvious who his fixer was by her voice? The Michael Shannon reveal would have been better without him being in the trailer.

yeah she was but even if she wasn’t I feel like I would have easily recognized her voice.

Also the Channing Tatum cameo got a few laughs out of me.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

this was pretty decent i thought. solid time killer. but i guess we found the one thing BTH can't do - a British accent

This was a much needed time to kill movie during my 4 hour bus ride today. Lots of laughs and "oh shit's" throughout the film. Wasn't expecting too much but loved the cameos (which there was more Ryan Reynolds) and totally didn't catch it was Sandra Bullock as his handler.
