People will probably say Sgt. Peepper's is overrated. It is not. It's a tremendous achievement that has stood the test of time.

I went Sgt Pepper's! Pop psychedelic art rock at its most totemic.

Both great albums but Purple Rain is more a sum of its vinyl bookends than a front-to-back favorite for me.

 

This is one of the toughest ones yet for me. Sgt Peppers is one of my favorite Beatles albums, but Purple Rain is a staple in my family. Spending a decent amount of time with both before putting a vote in.

 

Set Peppers was my favourite Beatles record for a while but I have to go with Prince. I don't love some of his other albums the way people seem to but Purple Rain is basically perfect.

 

never got the appeal of prince, it's the beats for me
