I've liked blink for more than half of my life but kind of a weird ship they run

 

The short amount of time it took to reply to fans could have been spent say Matt “you’re still in” or “Matt, we’re moving on without you”.

Kind of seems insanely professional on both fronts.

There’s probably some weird legal shit involved. Like, there’s a handshake agreement in place among everyone but they haven’t all signed on the dotted line yet. So they can’t formally make an announcement.

 

Crazy this band made such a massive impact between 97 - ‘03 that in 2022 the internet looses it on a merch drop. (Myself included)

 

It’s definitely happening right? If anything the way he addressed it makes it seem even more like a sure thing.

 

Or maybe they’re rehearsing with Tony Lovato as the new guitarist/singer and waiting to announce

 

Ok it’s back just heard from 2 people 40 dates next summer with Tom.

 

Not to mention, if this were to happen, they’d want it to be a surprise. Of course the news isn’t confirmed casually via Discord or in passing interviews. Tom returning to blink would be huge and of course they would deny it until it’s official. Even Pete Wentz said fob wasn’t reuniting THE DAY BEFORE

 

Maybe it’ll be like a Pat Smear-coming-back-to-the-Foos-but-Chris Shiflett-stayed-in-the-band kinda scenario. That way Tom could come back but still wouldn’t have to sing on any song other than I Miss You.

 

Sure I want Tom back, but I hope they’re communicating with Skiba. A couple albums and a plethora of tours…cmon, if that doesn’t deserve common decency then Mark and Travis aren’t really the best people.

 

Maybe the answer’s simple: they don’t know yet if they wanna go 3 or stay 4. That’s the Occam’s razor view imo.

 

I wonder who’s gonna fill in for Tom when he’s busy or losses interest???

Seriously though, I wish they had dropped some of that recorded material for fans, even if they had no plans to tour because of all the bad stuff they had been dealing with. I just want good new music.

I'll be disappointed if Skiba isn't involved. Nine felt like the Skiba version of blink finding their voice and I was excited to see where that goes. Not that I wouldn't be excited to have Tom back but I worry about another Neighborhoods situation.

 

I agree. I would like all four involved in the future. I think it would work, it would allow for any future issues if Tom was out again, and I think it ties the band history together.

Just curious as to why on earth you linked Tony Lovato to this? I'm a big Mest fan but don't see how you even mentioned that name serious or not. Tony is so unrelated to this band other then opening for them one summer on a side stage like 20 years ago...?
