i was always hoping that Lindor becomes a Beltran. Rough first year but shakes the cobwebs and turns it up. The guys been playing great lately.

 

I don’t understand why people are so up in arms with what the Red Sox are doing. They are buying/selling at the same time. Only 3.5 games back from a wild card spot but trading pending FAs they aren’t going to resign for prospects and trading out minor leaguers not in their future to get major league pieces to help the team in case they go on a run. I expect them to make more deals between now and the deadline. Realistically they won’t make the playoffs but they also need bodies to play the last two months of the year hence the Pham deal that cost them nothing.

 

For me personally, I’d be fine selling off the pending FAs if I had any confidence at all Xander and Devers are here for a long time. Since I don’t have that confidence it’s just “we suck and we’re gonna be worse for the foreseeable future” to me.

 

I have no problem with the “buying/selling“ approach in theory, but if they’re going to trade for warm bodies, I’d rather they be warm bodies I would like to root for, as opposed to a guy caught cranking his pud in public, and another guy who slapped a grown man in the face over fantasy football.
