Bummed about Ohtani not moving. The Angels are beyond parody at this point.

I like the Effross deal for the Yankees. He's been good this year, and he's under club control through 2027.

Yeah I only remembered seeing him once but numbers are good, plus 5 years, plus the Matt Blake effect. Good deal

This isn’t the bullpen acquisition I expected but the one that probably the one I deserve

Would like to, for the very first time ever during the regular season, warmly wish everyone a happy scherzGrom. Celebrated roughly once every 4-5 days and it is a 2-day celebration. please celebrate responsibly.

  13. Anyone wanna take bets on how many times this holiday gets observed before jakes arm falls off again

Don't want it to happen but it sure does happen a lot!

Brewers making a playoff push by trading AWAY a top tier closer?

If this was fantasy, I'd get it. They feel confident in their pen and are thinking big picture, but man you don't see playoff teams trading key players at the deadline very often

No other game had a more significant run advantage from the ump to one team yesterday, even if others had more missed calls

  17. Hader has sucked this year though, or sucked by his standards. He’s been at least somewhat unlucky but they might be worried his value is gonna drop precipitously by the off-season/next deadline. They’re not gonna resign him because the franchise is generally pretty cheap so if you can get a return like this why not? They’re also not exactly hurting for high powered arms in Milwaukee

It’s fair to ask whether they’d do this with no expanded playoffs tho. I’m sure you of all people would like to ask that too lol

Glad Ohtani is staying! Would have been pissed if Trout, Ohtani and Jrod all didn’t play this weekend lol

  19. it's hilarious that trading Hader barely affects our postseason chances lol

Sportsline projects the trade to favorably impact San Diego in 2022. The Padres' chances of making the playoffs increased from 68.9% to 70.7%, while Milwaukee's decreased slightly from 78.8% to 78.2%.

Milwaukee is also like the Midwest Rays where any can turn any random arm into a good reliever. I also feel like Hader always came up short for them in the playoffs.

  21. he stinks in the postseason

  22. Yeah I also think Rogers being a bounce back candidate in Milwaukee is a big part of this. They must see something they think they can fix

  23. Also think they will get more from Lamet than SD would have! And Esteury Ruiz has unreal minor league stats. Lots to like

  24. well he's a FA I think so I doubt he's on the team next season and I think Lamet will be non-tendered this winter

the main pieces are Gasser and Ruiz
