Hatebreed said tonight they'll be back for a headliner in Oct/Nov with bleeding through, dying wish and 2 other bands I can't remember

I would personally love that but I think they would more likely book support that is more popular. I wish they would lean into some classic bands like MXPX or NFG, but they always seem to bring on whatever acts are popular at the time.

 

I would brave a Hatebreed pit for this

Great American Ghost last night mentioned a headliner hitting Austin November 10th, so I'd imagine that'd be something announced towards the end of their run with Enterprise Earth.

Last year when they were discussing the 20th anniversary of Perseverance, Jasta mentioned trying to get Poison the Well, Throwdown and Dying Fetus as openers. I'm still holding out hope for PTW or Throwdown.

How is it possible that guns are NOT barred from the event? Don't you have to enter the event through metal detectors, etc? I understand that, technically, there is open carry allowed in the park given it's in Georgia but wouldn't the venue be fenced off?

Yes. But a "2A activist" is taking them to court over barring them from saying that you can't bring them to the festival because it's on the public park. It's all just bullshit.

From what I've been reading, this law passed in 2019 but was held up in court until this year, which is how 2021 took place.

 

I think the festival really missed an opportunity to state explicitly why it was canceled.

I mean it's GA... If they make a statement on why and get something sorted for next year, there will be plenty of people who take a stance because they got 'political' or whatever they want to call it. I personally think they should have made a statement along the lines of 'if we can't guarantee the safety of our attendees through our security process. then it's cancelled' but I totally can understand why they went this route of not being specific.

 

All the "go woke go broke" people with single-digit brain cells would no doubt jump all over them, but very few of those people were going to a rock festival like this. Fuck 'em and let it rip.
