Eh, you could certainly be right. I don't really think it's a "reach", but of course with this band, the confirmation bias runs wild.

Mark and Tom have both been in the studio the last couple of weeks and neither have indicated what they're working on or who they're working with (unless I missed something). Matt hasn't seemed to have much involvement with the band in a while and claims he doesn't know what's going on (not to mention they apparently scrapped an album's worth of material with him). It being the 30th anniversary just adds more fuel to the speculation because it gives them an actual occasion to reunite.

Could definitely be nothing, but I would personally be a little bit bummed if it turned out that blink, with Matt or Tom, is still on the shelf for a little while.

Enema of the State really does pair well with a nice summer day.

 

I can put EOTS on any day of the year and the weather immediately feels 10 degrees warmer. It captures the feeling of Summer beautifully.

 

Yeah I think it’s pretty obvious that we are getting something with Tom in the next year.

I completely agree with EOTS, one hell of a summer album but it also feels great all year round.

To me, it sounds more like he’s co-writing with a band that wants a happy summery pop punk song but Mark was having a hard time writing something like that.

 

No disrespect but no. Skiba has been awful live for the last 2-3 years, I mean, just plain awful. No energy, no voice, no stage presence, tbh most of the times it’s just cringe. And this comes from a major alk3 fan.

 

Well I haven't seen him with Trio in the last two years. Hasn't even played a blink song in the last two years. All I know is 2016 Matt played blink songs miles better than Tom cared to in the previous five years lol. Even without forced dick joke banter good riddance

 

I also saw them in 2016 and Matt was miles better than the last time I saw them with Tom lol

 

Matt really started half-assing his performances in the NINE album cycle. He just doesn't seem like he's having fun with it, and in my opinion it's not enjoyable to watch.

Tom clearly doesn't think this is best work, and isn't performing at his highest capacity, but at least he seems to be having fun with it. There's some warmth and levity to his performance I don't feel with Matt.

Admittedly those early Matt performances were pretty good, but my point still stands.

 

I love Blink as much as anyone, but do we have ANY live footage of them that we'd be willing to show a friend who had never heard of them before as a "hey, this is a kickass band to listen to!"? I mean, aside from the Pepsi Smash videos, they've always had abysmal live performances that I can recall. Their magic has always been being there in person and having fun with it, whether it's with Skiba or Tom.

 

Tom is Tom.I don’t care how bad he sounds,Id much rather see him fucking it up live and have tons of fun than see Matt falling in snooze.
And that is no hate on Skiba,I’m giant Trio fan,have two trio tattoos myself and have only great and amazing experience to meeting him in person.He just doesn’t fit all.Alkaine Trio is amazing and it’s something he does fantastic.
