Forgot to take my daily allergy pill once this week and then the next day my allergies were the worst they’ve been in months. This is the most relatable Mess lyric I’ve ever seen

Not interested in listening to this album because fuck Tilian, but I’ve seen some chatter about his vocals lately and I just want to chime in to say I think he’s always been on of the most overrated vocalists I’ve listened to and I think his voice got borderline-grating starting with Mothership. So much more unpleasant rasp to his voice from that period onward.

 

What he did aside, I always liked Tilian’s vocals and the pop sensibilities he brought to DGD, but I don’t fault anyone for not liking his voice or thinking it’s grating. Coheed are my favorite band and people have been hating on his vocals for 20 years so I’m used to liking vocalists others don’t, haha

 

The difference between Claudio and Tilian as vocalists is that Claudio is good and Tilian is whatever

the size of coheeds fan base tells me that plenty of people like his voice

 

Eh, there's a reason bands were competing for him early on. There's no denying the raw vocal talent when you go back to Dreamhouse and Acceptance Speech, but I feel a subtle dropoff over the DGD years. Not sure how much of that has just been production choices, but the aggressive autotune on parts of JJ is def awful.

 

Yeah, he sounded pretty good on Dreamhouse and his first two DGD albums, then seemingly every time he’d sing a high note on the following albums it sounded like he was shredding his throat
