I've won a lot of radio contests for tickets. Bunch of other shit I can't remember. The college station around here is always an easy win.

Damn lol that seems like a lot. Is this where you call in as the 4th caller or whatever and answer a trivia question?

 

two times were text wins. Four times was caller 92. About 15-20 times was caller number 9 at the college station.

 

I won $10 to Skyline Chili a few weeks ago and let me tell you, I was flying high

 

i won the bey blade tournament in 4th grade. runner up kid accused me of cheating and probably still crying

 

My parents won I believe John Mayer tickets in the very early 00s on the local radio station and got entered in a raffle to get flown out to cali to see goo goo dolls and meet them and they ended up winning that too.


I won blink tickets for the St. Louis date on an ap contest in 2011. I’m sure it’s because I’m the only one from St. Louis who entered and I was such a prominent poster Jason knew me and picked me lol

 

I drove an hour and a half after winning Rocky Votolato tickets in a contest on AP. She was supposed to make sure I was on the guest list. I wasn't

I paid and watched the show anyway. It was great

Lmao this happened to me with Exotic Animal Petting Zoo except the security guard was just like whatever and let me in anyways

 

I’m always just a little confused by this kind of tone/framing, as if boomers were somehow a team and not under the thumb of an elite decision-making class just like we are now.

I had a nu-metal friend in high school who liked that Switchfoot song "Meant to Live" when he heard it on the radio.

He won tickets to see them play with The Format as the opener. He was not pleased to find out that "Meant to Live" was by far the hardest Switchfoot song and he hated The Format. I thought it was hilarious.

 

I've won a handful of concert tickets on the radio over the years. My mom has the best luck with that, she's always winning, she's won I think 3 different times on the radio this year alone lol

 

A few years ago I became an author’s 100th patron on Patreon, so they sent me a copy of their book with a lil thank you note written inside.

The only things of note I can remember winning:

- A Gibson SG from a Tooth and Nail contest

- Front row tickets and a meet and greet with Lenny Kravitz

 

She's the only person who listens to the radio and calls in

 

If we’re counting gambling I’ve won ~$1000 in one night of poker before. I’ve won up close to that amount a few times actually.

i also once won $700 in a two night span and used that to buy myself my first laptop, back in like 2009/2010 lol. Delaware legalized table games so a poker room opened up near by, I went there and won $300, then decided to take my winnings down to Atlantic City the next night and won $400 more. Felt on top of the world getting myself that laptop lol.

 

I correctly guessed there were 150 Hershey kisses in a jar at a wedding. I won the jar and all the kisses.

 

A few years ago I was going to see Glassjaw and Quicksand with my brother in Chicago. I entered a few contests to win tickets to try and save some money. Was a couple days before the show and I didn't hear anything so I just bought tickets instead. Literally the next morning I won two of the contests for a total of 4 additional tickets. Couldn't believe it

 

This happened to be with warped tour once. I ended up buying two tickets and won four the day before the show. Took the four tickets and scalped them at the gates lol
