In the spirit of the lottery, what is the coolest thing y’all have ever won??

I won a raffle with the top prize being a fully paid for hotel stay in Mexico. Only downside is that I had to pay for my own flights, so I gifted it to a family member.

 

My first video game console, the original NES. What it would awaken in me is priceless.

 

Technically my mom won but she won floor tickets on KROQ to see Metallica in 2003. It was the day of the show too so she picked me up from school and was like your dad is taking you to see Metallica tonight have fun.

 

Lueda told me I won a contest on AP I didn't sign up for. Never got the record.

 

My mom won one of those “be the 104th caller!” Contests on the radio when I was 8, we won a free trip to Disney World/universal Studios/SeaWorld/Epcot. The only time I’ve been to Disney

In the smaller pics of their faces they are legit just looking right at the camera. So weird. I feel bad for these guys. They look like they're just trying to nap and this person who made the poster won't stop taking their picture and obsessing over all of the weird details of their (albeit very intriguing) car setup.

If you don't know what is going on with the car, how do you know it's NOT THE KIND OF THING YOU WANT HERE ?

 

It’s an Instagram that makes fake posters and posts them around and then takes photos of um.

 

I have seen Next Door posts from people (mostly HOA folks) complaining about cars parked on the side of the road that are older than 15 years

 

I won an Apple Watch at my first job, but at the time I had a Samsung so I couldn’t even use it. Outside of that I won a tee shirt from my favorite bar, which is cool because I actually use it haha.

I won an Alkaline Trio vinyl test pressing from a raffle after pre-ordering the release

 

When my now wife and I first moved in together, at her company Christmas party that year they did some kind of gift exchange where everyone was competing for one high-value gift, I think it was a tablet or an iPad or something. She got real close but ended up with a vintage looking popcorn maker machine thing right at the last minute. This thing was incredible - we made so much delicious popcorn with it for years and always joked about how it was way better than some dumb tablet.

 

So what's everyone doing until the drawing. We got 45 minutes to kill

 

When I was in 4th grade (1998) there was a basketball game for charity with some teachers and some of the Steelers. They picked 4 ticket numbers to try and shoot a half court shot for like $10,000 or something. I was one of the ones that got picked. I of coursed missed the shot but they said they still had a prize for us. They took us to the back and pulled out basketballs with autographs all over them and said these are signed by the Los Angeles (in my head I was like holy fucking shit Kobe! Shaq!) …Clippers!! Legit have no idea who’s signatures are on the ball. It’s still at my parents house somewhere.

 

my aunt always wins at the casino, maybe the only person who has won more than they’ve lost.
