Thank you! Teddy's demo was really poppy and bright until I slowed that sucker down and threw the slides on there. Tried to turn it into some weird late-night, desert-rock shit. We might put those demos out sometime because some of them are pretty different than what they turned into. (Got some good B-sides, too.)

 

It is definitely Teddy lmao he's got so much more of a classically trained voice than us. He reeled it in on this one though in a great way

I love it so much. I think it's the most synergized we are on the record, apart from maybe "DIVINE"

The outro was originally a separate song that we almost cut, too, but Brian found a way to work it in and I'm so happy he did

Let me know if you think of it, I'd love to know! There's little nods all over this thing, intentional and otherwise. "Voice of God" def came from "Hand of God" (Kevin Devine) and "Untethered Moon" is straight-up a Built to Spill album title lol

Yeah, I love this one too. Reminds me of Manchester a bit and I love that Brian found a way to write about toxic masculinity.

 

But yeah this is gonna be in heavy rotation especially come fall.
