Just found out that my company is reimbursing $1000 for "personal care" for each year. Pretty much pays for my AirBNB and rental in Iceland. Feels good, man.

Seems weird for the Dems to unveil and dance about this great bill they finally agreed to with Manchin when it sounds like they haven't even talked to Sinema about it. We all know how that will end.

 

The full screen thing drove me nuts

 

I wasn't dealing with that but the ads and recommended posts were becoming unbearable. I can tolerate seeing ads every 5 or 6 posts, whatever, but I was getting ads at the top of my feed when I opened the app. It's really getting to the point of wondering if I want to keep using the app at all

 

What full screen thing with Instagram

 

It like, changed how you scrolled through your feed. I would try to scroll up with my thumb to go down the usual feed, but it instead just tried to make the current picture/post on my screen bigger, and I couldn't figure out several times how to do a usual scroll through the feed.

 

Mine still has this stupid update and I HATE IT

 

I don’t think I ever got that but it sounds like it’s pushing you to reels? Or am I misunderstanding

 

I personally enjoy Instagram reels, but they're all cat videos on mine

 

Reels are fine but keep them in the reels tab and don't randomly throw them in the home tab

 

obligatory post recommending people not to board your pets there. v high manager turnover, understaffed stores w not the best workers since they don't pay well. huge disservice to the animals, felt like a lawsuit waiting to happen when i was there

 

I won't even shop at pet stores. I buy everything on amazon for my cats.

 

All social media got stupid after they did the change from chronological posts to whatever their algorithm thought you wanted. It has just been a deluge of stupid change for change sake after that.

 

That (and no ads) are the primary reason I use Tweetbot instead of Twitter proper on iOS

 

I don't hate having the "algorithm" instead of chronological because sometimes it does give me stuff from a day or two ago that I missed and would have liked to see, but at the very least they should give you the option to put posts chronologically
