i learned this is the first part of a trilogy of albums on three generations of women in a family, and idk what she has planned for the next two records, but i'm incredibly excited to see.

I think this thread isn’t popping because she’s relatively new. I hadn’t heard of her until a bit before I made this thread. Regardless I feel like a lot of chorus would dig this quite a bit. It’s good.

Keep forgetting to check this out. I’ve been a mild fan since hearing God’s Country a year or so ago and really appreciate her lyrics and overall aesthetic. Only got halfway through it today but top notch stuff. Always a good thing when such long songs wrap you up and make you forget about the length. House in Nebraska was devastatingly sad.

Such a great concept to start out with. The writing is already good enough that I think it could go to some really interesting places by the time she finishes the next two.

This album is really good, maybe not grabbing me as much as Inbred did at first though. Also not big into long songs in general and like the poppier leaning stuff a bit more.

the only thing that bothers me that i just discovered is that she signed to Dr. Luke's Prescription Songs not knowing that he spearheads the company. at the very least, she has complete control over her work, and says she doesn't work directly with him and won't. not an ideal situation, but at least she's not actively defending him like some of his other signees.

i did get a second listen in today and it's still as haunting as ever. lots to chew on, and i dig the vast majority of it.

Going to take something truly exceptional to knock this off album of the year for me

This album is haunting, dreary, and beautifully written. Not sure how often I’ll return to it due to its length and slow burn, but the song American Teenager is something special. Probably my favorite song I’ve heard this year.

This album just totally came out of nowhere for me and will most likely end up as my album of the year. Everything about it: the concept, her vocals, the production just sucks me right in. One of the most beautiful/terrifying albums I’ve heard in a long time. Definitely makes me feel a lot of things all at once.

She sung Strangers as the encore totally acapella, said they didn't rehearse for an encore. But, damn, if that song wasn't haunting enough already...
