I'm not expecting originality from Avatar 2 because we didn't get originality from Avatar 1.

This is literally the one site I’ve been to where people are not seeing the overlapping themes and imagery in both BP2 and Avatar 2.

 

I mean, we don't know anything about what Avatar 2 is even about other than that a lot of it takes place underwater.

But I don't think people are dismissing any similarities/parallels, they're just saying that Cameron probably doesn't give a shit, just like most moviegoers.

 

What other movie forums are saying avatar wont do well because it comes out 5 weeks after another movie that also features water?

well, i've never seen avatar 1, and therefore have no interest in seeing avatar 2. so this doesn't affect me. bring on BP:WF!

 

IIRC, Antz was created because Katzenburg from Pixar jumped ship and went on to find out Lasseter was planning A Bug’s Life due to the two sharing notes as friends.

I vaguely remember Steve Jobs being pissed about it because Katzenburg took the creative moment away Lasseter, something he “could never give back.”

Antz was moved to release one month before A Bug’s Life because Katzenburg was upset at Pixar over competition with the Prince of Egypt release. Just some very petty stuff.

I think I read it in the Steve Jobs book nearly a decade ago.
